Chapter 12: Lies
"Hello?" I say. "Jessica! Oh my god I thought I lost you! Where have you been?! Every one has been worried sick!" She starts rambling. "I'm fine. Just staying with a few new friends." I answer calmly.
I stand up and start pacing. "Jess, it's been almost a week! Who are these new friends of yours? I wouldn't trust people you just met. They could be dangerous!" I frown because they are dangerous. My mum would kill me if she knew what's going to happen. I run my fingers through my hair and sigh.
"When are you coming home?" she asks. I can tell she misses me by the tone in her voice. "Soon. A couple days or less. Promise." Harry walks out of the store and notices I have my phone back.
He immediately spins on his heels and looks in the other direction. "Mum I gotta go. Love you. Bye." I press the end button and Harry looks back at me nervously.
"You've had my phone this whole time?! I've been looking for it! How many times have you ignored calls from my friends? My parents? My sister?!" I start to yell at him. "Jess, I did it for your own good. I-" I cut him off at that.
"What would be so bad about me talking to the people that miss me? What's so good about your idea?! Huh? Tell me that!" I poke at his chest as he tries to grab my arm. "Ow!" I screech. "Sorry! Wrong arm!" he says quicky.
