Chapter 11

"I'm not sure if I should be thanking you, or scolding you!" Devin exclaimed.

We were standing to the side while Alec, Brent and Jason decided who I was going to fight next.

"Why would you scold me?" I asked confused.

"It was my mistake. I deserved what I got. I disrespected the alpha." He sounded so different from the Devin when we first came here. "You need to stop protecting me, it's my job to protect you."

"It works both ways. How many times do I need to tell you that?"

He chuckled a little bit while shaking his head. "I don't think it's ever going to sink through."

"Your so hard headed sometimes." I said slightly annoyed.

"Yeah, I know." He smiled.

"Chloe, are you ready?" Alec called.

I walked over towards him and the others.

"Yeah, who am I fighting?"

"That guy over there in the red t-shirt." Jason answered pointing at a guy across from us. He didn't look that big, sure he was bigger then the doctor, but it still seemed like they were underestimating me. But, then again, who was I to judge a fighter by how big they were?

I walked out into the center with Jason trailing behind me. The guy I was fighting came out to.

"Same rules. Shake hands and go to your sides." Jason said, and turned to walk away. I shook hands with the guy and went to my side. He was about 6'1, not big for a male werewolf.

He had a cute look to him, brown shaggy hair that fell into his green eyes. But, he had nothing on my mate.

He looked hesitant with everything he did. Which was a big mistake.

"Go!"

I ran towards him, stopped and spun to my right, which was the way he had leaned thinking I was going to charge him. It was clear he could be overwhelmed easily. He tried to get away from me, but was already off balance. This was my chance.

I shifted my weight and quickly delivered a roundhouse kick to the side of his head. In werewolf fighting there was nothing you couldn't do in human form besides twist their neck, and of course any private areas. Because, not many werewolves could survive there neck being twisted. But almost any other injury we could heal from.

He went flying across the clearing from the force of the kick. He fell on the ground and was blinking his eyes, trying to clear his sight. I was over on the other side holding him down in a flash.

"One!"

He still pretty much seemed out of it.

"Two!"

He started to come around, and was trying to stand up. Which only caused me to put more pressure on him.

"Three!"

I got off him and helped him up. I then walked over to Alec, Jason, Brent and Devin.

"I thought you all were going to give me a real challenge."

They looked at each other, slightly shocked. Besides Devin.

"Well... We didn't think you could handle him that easily." Jason said.

"Just give me someone that challenges me."

"I don't want you to get hurt." Alec said, his eyebrows furrowing together. I just wanted to reach forward and smooth them out. But I stayed in place.
