He laughed.

I remember walking in the house, keys swinging and food on my mind.

"Hey Ray," I said to my husky as I rubbed his head. "Did you have a good day?"

The wagging of his tail told me everything I needed to know. I walked into the kitchen, dropped my keys in the tray and started washing my hands to prep for dinner.

My boyfriend came in a couple minutes later, "Listen, I don't understand why you can't seem to get my order correctly but you might want to get it together before I call your manger."

I looked up at him and shook my head, after putting the finishing touches on the chicken I sled the pan into the oven and made my way over to him.

"You seem stressed," I mumbled as I gave him a kiss.

He kissed me back but pressed his fingers against my lips. "No talking," he said.

I looked at him confused for a minute. "Okay, I get it. Okay.. Just call me back later okay? Alright, goodnight."

He liked to poke my nose before he spoke.

"Babe."

"Yes?"

"The chicken."

I jumped up as fast as I could to save our dinner as he laughed.
