The Storm

There's thunder and lightning, and it's really bad. Benjamin scoots closer to me and we cuddle. On my TV, there's a storm warning. It's telling us to stay indoors, get away from windows and listen for further warnings.

"Looks like you're staying here for a few hours." I say.

A few hours later, I look out the window and the streets are flooded! It's at least 3-4 feet of water. I sit back down. Benjamin's phone makes a ping and he reads the text.

"My mom says I have to stay here. It's to dangerous." He says.

"That's fine." I say.

It's getting late, so I go into my room and change into black Areopostele sweat shorts and a white t shirt.

"Do you need pajama pants? I have sweat pants from the boys section at Abercrombie." I ask Benjamin.

"Sure." He answers.

I get the sweat pants and hand them to him. I go into the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth and comb my hair. I get out and Benjamin is sitting on the couch in the sweatpants and no shirt.

"Where could I sleep?" He asks.

"Um...," I say. "There's a comfy couch in my room. Is that ok?" I ask.

"That's fine." He answers.

We go into my room and I give Ben a pillow and blanket. We get settled and go to sleep.

I wake up from a huge crash of thunder at 2:00. I shoot up and see Benjamin is up, too. I look out the window and the wind is going crazy. I turn on my little lamp next to my bed and Benjamin stands up. He comes to sit on the other end of my bed. I yawn. My phone rings, and I see it's Ali.

"Hello?" I mumble.

"Hey! We miss you!" She says.

"I miss you, too. But it's 2 in the morning here."

"I'm sorry! I didn't know."

"It's fine. So what's up?"

"Nothing. Hanging out with Spencer. You?"

"Hanging out with Benjamin. There's a really bad storm and he has to stay here."

"Cool. I have to go, but call me later, ok?"

"Ok, bye Ali."

I hang up and set my phone down. I look at Benjamin, and he's looking out the window. I crawl over to him and sit in front of him. He looks at me and stares into my eyes. He grabs my hands and gives me a kiss. He lets go and we both smile. Benjamin stands up and goes back to the couch. I turn off the light and go to sleep.

We wake up at 8:30 and go downstairs. My mom texted me saying,

"Dad and I went to a movie with Benjamin's parents out of town, and we are now at a hotel until the storm is over. Benjamin has to stay at our house."

"Ok, be careful." I answer.

I get out some Cheerios and 2 bowls for Ben and I. We poor our cereal and eat in front of the TV. I turn on the news and the man says the storm will be over in about 3 hours. I finish my cereal and put on black yoga pants from PINK, and a white t shirt. Benjamin puts on his clothes from yesterday.

My parents got home 2 hours ago and Benjamin went home. I'm just happy my parents are safe.
