PART TEN
" It is in herself that she will find the strength she needs "

Han sat there staring at the young girl. After Rey had went after Fin and Maz had told Zayla about what her eyes told Maz, Zayla had become silenced. And Zayla had never been a quiet girl. She would be boasting about a win, or she would be taking action, coaxing others, or spitting her feelings. Never quiet. After staring at her scruffy boots, her head suddenly jerked up and she sucked in a breath looking toward the staircase in the corner.

"Do you hear that?" She asked Han

Han looked at the girl with sympathy,"Zayla, I know what Maz says is confusing at times but all will be clear soon."'

"No. Do you hear that." She said, her eyes darting around trying to find the sound.

"Hear what?"

Zayla whispered, "Whispers. Almost as in for a cry for help." Han tried to listen but all he heard was the clinking of glasses and drunken laughter and shouting.

"You don't hear it." She said sadly looking at Han's confused eyes.

Han shook his head slowly, "Look Zayla. Maybe we should go."

Zayla stood aruptedly and looked around suddenly darting to the staircase. She couldn't go, the whispers were almost calling to her. She looked down the almost black stairs from dirt and grime and then noticed Rey was beside her.

"Do you hear that?" Rey asked shakily.

"The whispers?" Zayla replied back.

Rey's eyes widened, "Yes."

Zayla looked down at the stairs, the girl whispers were becoming louder, stronger. Zayla nodded toward the black pit, "Shall we?"

Rey nodded and they both descended down the stairs almost too quietly. As soon as they hit the ground they both looked around. Zayla saw four doors and one contained the whispers.

"Which one?" Her voice echoed through the corridor.

"That one." Zayla said opening her eyes now. She could almost feel a pulse in one of the rooms. She knew it wasn't a pulse but maybe it was...maybe it was the Force she felt. But Zayla shook the ideas away. She didn't have the Force she knew that. Only special, gifted people did. Not her.

The door opened, and the girls looked back to the darkness of the staircase as if asking if it was alright to go in, if they could enter the room full of whispers. And as the girls entered Rey looked over at a tiny chest on a few dusty piled books and slowly walked toward it immediately starting to open it. As it creaked open the whispers stopped.

"Rey, what is it?" Rey reached down toward whatever was in the box. and then screamed. She looked like she was in some trance. She crawled away from the box hitting Zayla's legs.

Quickly Zayla reacted, picking the shaking Rey up from the ground, "Rey...what was it? What happened?"

"What is that?" She whispered her eyes widened and wild.

Zayla slowly walked toward the box, she looked inside to see a lightsaber. Zayla gasped with excitement, "Oh Rey! It is a lightsaber!"

"A what?"

"Lightsaber. What Jedi used, it was their weapon. This could be Luke Skywalkers for all we know!"

"I will never touch it again."

Zayla stopped admiring the lightsaber, "Why?"

"Memories maybe, or nightmares. When I touched it these visions came into my mind, they were horrendous."

Zayla stared at the cold lightsaber in her hand. "Put it back, please!" Rey said, backing away from the lightsaber.

Before Zayla could react, the building shook, and both Rey and Zayla could hear the drunken pilots and servants and merchants scream, "They're here!"
