Chapter Four: Maya and William

Maya
After meeting the girls, umalis ako para sa class for the afternoon. I sat down with my notebooks. Nagaaral ako ng Law.
Then, a cute guy comes near me. Gwapo. Mukhang Enrique Gil. Exactly like him.
"Hi, beautiful." Sabi niya. He brushed his hair around. Kilig. His leather jacket was stunning.
Baka lasing ako. Imposible, Maya. Kahit isang kutsara nang alak hindi mo pa natikman.
"Hi." Sabi ko.
Silence. Complete silence. Pero he took a deep breath and inrtoduced himself.
"I'm William Pangilinan."
Tibok. Tibok. Tibok.
"Maya. Maya Villanueva."
Spark. We shook hands. His hands was soft. Soft like a pillow. He was smooth.
Nagstart na yung class.
Moments later...

umabas na kami ng classroom. Gulo gulo. Scattered like sardines.
May humawak sa shoulder ko.
Isang lalaki na hindi ko kilala.
"Hey. You want to come with me?" Sabi niya.
"No, thank you."
"Come on."
I hear footsteps.
Rushing towards us.
William.
Someone tapped my shoulder.
Siya nga pala. My eyes widened. Parang wow. Ang bilis niya. His fiery eyes looked towards the guy.
"Maya. Ginugulo ka ba niya?" He asked.
"Oo." I whispered. Parang rinig yata. Shit. Oo nga, pero his grip was stronger.
"Hindi kaya." Said the guy.
"NAGSISINUNGALING KA EH! GET YOUR HANDS OFF MAYA!" Exclaimed William. His brown hair was dreamy. The guy pushed him into the lockers.
They had a fight.
The next morning... bugbug sarado si William.
"Sorry ah. Dahil sa akin, may black-eye ka." Sabi ko sa kanya.
"Okay lang. You're worth fighting for." He replied.
Marunong siya sa hugot lines. Bakit ba siya kasi gwapo?
He looked at me and slid his hand on my neck.
"I-love-"
Rinnggg. Ringgg. Ringgg.
Punyeta. Inis.
Nagring ang cellphone ko.
Daddy.
"Sorry," I left his touch and took out my cellphone. He lets go of his hands.
"Dad ko. I have to take this."
And I took the call. When I looked back,wala na siya sa paningin ko.
"Dad?"
"Anak. I have to tell you something." He was over the phone.
"Ano po yun?"
I heard him gulped. He was serious.
Ano ba yun?
"Andito na yung mama mo." He replied.
I hung up. The whole day nagtaka ako? Buhay pa si Mama?
