-Rin-

"Guys, get out of here!" I said to Shika and Kiro. They nodded and we all ran off, heading out of the village and into the safety of the forests. Ayato followed us closely, almost catching Kiro when I shoved Kiro to the side. Ayato grabbed me instead, holding me by the collar. I grabbed his hand, punching him in the face he turned and punched my stomach.

I told you not to do it.

Oh hush up

I dodged his next punch, kicking his gut. He grabbed my foot, twisting, trowing me to the ground. I jumped up, landing on my hand and pushing off again to upright myself. "You've gotten slower."

His face became angrier, then he calmed back down. "Awwe no fun." I said, jumping at him. He smirked, running at me. A shadow out of the corner of my eye alerted me. I sped up, pushing Ayato out of the way as a blade landed where he would have been.

"Get off of me Rin." He said, hopping out from under me. I smirked.

"Why you blushing?"

"I am not."

"Hey! You!" I spun, remembering the shadowed figure. It was one of the guys from earlier.

I looked from Ayato to him, "Time to go! Bye!" I said, jumping off of the roof, running. I ran quickly, dodging the people on the streets. I turned left, then right, then I jumped through a window, turning and holding the curtain still. I heard running cease outside. I turned and saw Kiro and Shika behind me. They held their hands over their mouths. The footsteps began leaving and Shika motioned for us to follow him. He lifted a hatch into the floor. The two of them went down first, then I followed, closing it behind us. Shika grabbed a torch and we walked down the hallway. The two of them stopped walking. I looked ahead and saw the guy with the mask. He was holding his sword casually in front of him.

"Turn around!" I said.

Another guy with white hair stood there... White dragon.

Yeah thanks for that you bum. I thought.

"Looks like we aren't getting out of here without a fight." I grabbed a dagger, running at the guy with the mask. In this area I would have the advantage against them. There wasn't that much room.

I ran at him, going for his face, but he held his sword there, blocking it. With only daggers a sword would be hard to face. I pushed my arm to the side and brought my other arm in. Behind me I heard two grunts. Shika, Kiro!

I spun and swung at the white dragon. He stepped back, grabbing my hand and the dagger in his. I tried to pull away, but couldn't. Think! Quick! I hoisted myself up, going to kick him. He moved his head just in time.

"You know who we are. So, Why do you fight against us!!" He yelled, tossing me back. My eyes widened as I fell to the ground. "Why?!"

I looked down at the ground, having no response. Fighting was my instincts. What do I do?

Its your path, not mine, Rin

"Is this the black dragon?" A younger voice asked. I kept my head down, unspeaking. I had no idea what to say. "Hi there." The presence walked closer to me. A hand was placed under my chin, raising it. Two eyes, wide with worry, gazed down at me. I hadn't noticed until I felt something roll down my cheeks.

"Why are you sad?" She asked.

I remained silent, Run. Run and you can figure it out later. Go! My concious told me. I twisted and darted, running past the blue dragon before he could do anything. None of them chased after me. They just watched me go. I wiped my eyes viciously, running, almost tripping until someone grabbed my shoulder.

I looked up and froze, my eyes wider than a deers as it takes its last breath.

-Shin-ah-

I was going to stop the black dragon, but something stopped me. It wasn't the kid, but the presence of the black dragon asking me to leave him be for now. I turned and watched him go.

"Shin-ah, you felt it too?" Kija asked.

I nodded, "The boy is scared. Of us."
