Chapter 6

{The Lab}

I woke up kind of drowsy and my vision was still quite blurry, a few hours later. All I could hear was people talking but I couldn't quite make out what they were saying and my arms and legs would not move, no matter how much I tried. I slowly lifted my head up and saw a bunch of machinery standing near my feet. I was on some kind of operating table.

Consciousness suddenly caught up with me and I began to fidget and struggle. One of the scientists came running over and tried to calm me down but I just kept hissing and screeching.

'Help over here!' The man yelled.

Several people came rushing over and all tried to calm me down. They put a gas mask over my mouth but I wouldn't take in the gases at first. But soon enough I was out again.

I finally woke up for the second time to all the scientists walking past, pushing a second operating table into the room. The person was covered so I couldn't quite make out who it was.

'Right we'd better leave him here for now' the tallest man said before leading all of them out.

The last man lifted away the cover and the figure was on show. I looked a little closer, only to realise...

It was Joey! Joey Graceffa!

I saw the bite mark on the right side of his neck and sighed.

'J-J-Joey!' I screeched attempting to move my arm and poke him.

No use. It was strapped down. His eyes opened and he let out a gasp of air and began to breath heavily. He looked around the room and saw me lying there next to him.

'Ebony?!' He said, sounding shocked, 'what are you doing here?'

'I was going to ask you the same thing!' I replied.

Our conversation was interrupted by a machine starting up in the far corner and the feeling of a slight electrical shock in my back. My face screwed up and my fists clenched tight. I heard the sound of humans laughing coming from the other side of the wall.

'What was that?' Joey exclaimed.

'I don't even know! I think got shocked, for no reason!' I replied, my eyes slowly watering in pain.

A sudden thought came to me.

'Joey? Why are you not in hospital?' I questioned.

'Because of the vampire bite. They wanted it to be tested. I presume that's why your here as well!' He replied.

'Yeah. Look I'm sorry about that..I couldn't control myself!' I added.

'Well it did come to a surprise and hurt an awful lot but I don't fell any different. I though I was ment to become a vampire too?' Joey said confused.

I thought about it and realised that he should have. Did he not feel any sort of of vampireisum at all? Not even fangs growing? no wait. he should have died!

'Joey, you shouldn't be alive!' I yelled.

'what?! you want me dead?!' Joey screamed back in his most feminine voice.

'No! I don't! But when a vampire bites a non vampire they die! Why are you not dead?' I replied, looking right into his deep blue eyes.

The look on his face changed and showed deep thought. The men came into the room and started wheeling us out of the lab. I began hissing again as a sign for them to get away but they shoved a mask on my face and joeys. Where were they taking us?
