Iggy's P.O.V

After approximately one month of smiling and displaying the personality of a perfect prince I snapped. Selected? Lady Eysllt? What the hell was going on? And why didn't anyone want to tell me? I inhaled deeply as my father stared directly at me, his amber eyes mirroring mines. He had called me into his study for a talk. "Ignatius," my father says after an entire five minutes of contemplating what to say and how he should chew me out. The calmness in his voice rattled me to my core. He folded his arms across his chest and laid them on the desk as he contemplated for a few more minutes. "I told you to be careful around these girls. Which meant trying to contain that temper of yours," he say, there was a certain edge to his voice now.

I gulped as I nodded. "If I hadn't arrived when I did, would you have exploded into flames?" he snaps. I flinch at his change in tone. I am in a daze as I remember what happened earlier that day:

"Selected?" I had scoffed, I couldn't help but let my irritation seep into my conduct. Selected? They were lying. To protect me? Shouldn't they be sending an army of guards? I can protect myself anyways. I glared hotly at the two girls before opening my lips.

"Yes selected," the girl, Princess Bianca snapped at me in a similar tone to me. Her eyes, which were still blue from the fight, flickered dangerously at me. I paused for a moment, taken aback. No one would have dared to speak to me like that except my father. Didn't she know who I was? Apparently not if she had the nerve to speak to me like that.

I gritted my teeth. Ugh. This was so annoying. All I was supposed to do in life was find a bride, rule a kingdom. Was that too much to ask? I sighed internally, I had to assess the situation before losing my last straw.

"Why?" I asked. Bad move. Princess Bianca only narrowed her eyes at me, her eyes pulsing as she snapped: " Because apparently your life is worth something."

How dare she speak to me and disobey my orders in my own home? I could have cared less about Lady Eysllt in that instant. She was in my land under my power. I gritted my teeth before opening my mouth to yell at her when father cam marching through.

"I would have not father," I say tersely, looking at him steadily. "I was just going to put her in her place," I say. My father narrowed his eyes at my response, exhaling heavily into his chair. He rubbed his temples for a moment before slamming his fist on his desk.

"YOU IDIOT," he roared. "Lady Eysllt sent her don't you understand ?"

"So what of it?" I asked, my voice rising steadily.

"Lady Eysllt is one of the most powerful women regarded by all the kingdoms. She rarely says anything in matters like these, let alone send people to guard others," my father exhales, lowering his voice. "She sent several investigators earlier for this matter. This is not something we can just cast aside. She is wary of something and if you explode into flames you'll just doom us all."

I swallow again as he screamed his last words. "Listen to me. Control it. It's just for a year or two. Especially around those two girls. If anything happens that causes them to find out. I'll have your head.," he spits at me, his eyes glistening in fury. "Do you understand ?" He asks darkly.

"Yes sir."

~Later that Day~

Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. I still didn't get to ask father about the matter he had been referring to. It must be very serious if my actions would affect her. I wouldn't be able to ask him for a few days. He was very unlikable when he was like that. So then who would I go to? Who would I ask? Who would tell me? Why was it that I was the only one who didn't know anything ? Crap this sucked.

I let out a heavy sigh as I entered the garden which I had revealed to the girls for their leisure since they were not allowed to go outside anymore. Instantly my eyes fell on Princess Bianca, who sat secluded on a stone bench by herself. The others were gathered in a semi circle chatting. She didn't seem to mind though. She was reading something that made a smile creep unto her face.

The first smile I saw from her since her arrival. She looked quite beautiful as she smiled, her eyes softening at whatever it was she was reading. However just as quickly as her joyful expression come had it disappeared. A frown filled her features as her fingers curled around the paper.

What was happening ? What was she reading ? I couldn't help but edge myself closer to her, hoping to see a few of her words.
