Chapter 13 - Tormod meets Sothe's baby who seems to hate him

After the matters were dealt with by Micaiah and Sothe, they decided to stay in Begnion for a few more days, get Bridgette to know her surroundings, her great ancestor and her aunt. More importantly, Sothe wanted his best friend Tormod to meet his child. He hadn't known about Micaiah's pregnancy so meeting the princess would be a surprise.
When Tormod did met Bridgette, she was in Sothe's arms sleeping peacefully, despite his yelling out to her father. When he approached him, Tormod was surprised to see a baby in his best friend's arms.
"Hey Sothe- uh who's the baby?" he questioned.
"My precious Pumpkin Bridgette. She was born three weeks ago," Sothe answered, then smiling at his little baby who had just awoken. The princess turned and saw Tormod, and kept her golden eyes fixed on his hair.
"Wait I didn't know Micaiah was pregnant!" he exclaimed loudly.
"Was. She's just losing the baby weight now," the taller green haired man said a little annoyed. Thankfully his yelling didn't make the child cry. At this point Tormod was trying to make funny faces to get Bridgette to smile or laugh, but instead, she gave the 'I'm really not amused by your stupidity' face, along with the slight lip pout. Sanaki walked in to seeing Tormod making a great fool of himself, and failing at it too. She facepalmed and walked up to the three.
"Tormod why are you being such an idiot? It's obvious she doesn't like you," Sanaki said proudly, rubbing her niece's green haired head, which resulted in the baby yawning.
"I'm going to talk Bridgette to Micaiah so she can feed her and then take her afternoon nap," Sothe excused himself, walking back to his guest room.
"You never told me Sothe and your sister did the do," Tormod whispered to Sanaki after his friend left.
"That was none of my business asking you dolt," she slapped his head quite annoyed.

In the guest room, Micaiah was laying down on the bed asleep since earlier she had a headache and needed to rest. Sothe quietly calm in, careful not to startle her and placed Bridgette on her stomach, in which she did wake up.
"Hi Pumpkin are you ready to be fed before taking a nap?" she woozily said as her husband stroked her silver hair gently. As she was bringing down the top part of her dress to begin feeding, Tormod opened the guest room without knocking.
"Sothe I wanted to see if the baby was sleeping so we can spea-" he stopped as he saw Micaiah's exposed breast. Sanaki followed him and saw her sister who was about to feed her child.
"Tormod what in Ashera's name are you doing give them their privacy!" she yelled at him, slapping his head once again. Sothe looked ready to kill Tormod, but calmed as his sister-in-law took his best friend out of the room and closed the door.
"Uh, I'm not sure what happened there, so go ahead and feed I guess," Sothe said as his wife started breastfeeding their child.
Outside, Sanaki was scolding Tormod for walking in on Micaiah when she was about to start feeding.
"YOU KNOCK THE DOOR BEFORE OPENING YOU IDIOT!" she yelled at him.
"I THOUGHT HE WAS ALONE I DIDN'T KNOW MICAIAH WAS IN THE ROOM TOO!" he yelled feeling a bit ashamed for being rude. "But I've never seen a breast either," he said pervertedly and Sanaki got more enraged.
"YOU PERVERT- ugh I'll deal with you later.." the young empress stopped there and walked off.
Meanwhile, Sothe wanted to speak to Tormod about the little incident that had just happened, he was a bit mad for the interruption.
"Don't be too mad at him, he still has some innocence in him," Micaiah reassured her beloved while still feeding Bridgette. He sighed and kissed her forehead, then heard a small cough. The little princess had milk on her face and she was trying to somehow wipe it off with her hand. Both parents laughed a little and cleaned her up.
"I guess she had enough for now," Sothe whispered, rubbing the child's head as his wife detached the child from her body. The baby fell asleep as Micaiah laid her down on her bare chest and she in turn wanted to go back to sleep, her head was still hurting her.

After leaving Micaiah to rest with their child, Sothe went out on the balcony and was speaking to Tanith about the matter they had to attend to in Begnion earlier while looking out at the balcony. She then asked him about how his child was, she really liked the young princess and didn't see her that day. Tormod approached the talking persons and attempted to start a conversation.
"Good day, Lady Tanith, and Sothe," he started, "Sothe I'd like to apologize for...interrupting your intimate moment with Micaiah and your baby. I only thought you were in the room with your child,"
"I forgive you, it was rude for not knocking, but I should apologize too," Sothe began, "I should've told you when Micaiah was impregnated. I guess I was so excited for Pumpkin's arrival that I forgot to write to you about her."
"Besides Sanaki told me nothing about it," Tormod pouted. Tanith laughed slightly at the two men.
"Well now you know not to interrupt breastfeeding sessions," she commented, "when Sigrun and I were just installed, she walked into Micaiah's mother breastfeeding her and it was funny at how embarrassed she got." Sothe and Tormod laughed at Sigrun's mistake, and she was actually nearby when she heard.
"Tanith please, at least my cooking skills are better," she protested.
"Hey, I've gotten better in the past few years, but not as good as Oscar or Laura," she mentioned the mercenary and cleric. Both men laughed again, and continued to look out at the balcony.
"I never thought Pumpkin would come a whole month earlier than expected. She wasn't ill or anything, she was born in perfect health. Three weeks ago when Micaiah's water broke I got so scared I didn't know what to do," Sothe reminisced the time of his daughter's birth, "I'm glad both mother and child were okay after the birth, and I love them with all my heart. If never let anyone hurt them." Sigrun, Tanith and Tormod awed at his comment, he probably would have never gotten that out if Micaiah were to be around. He'd be too embarrassed.

*well that took a little while to think of. I just had to add Tormod there somewhere right :P. Plus he's a big perv coming to the fact he never saw a woman's exposed chest before. Well next chapter Sothe and Micaiah will be heading home, and I probably might not update till next weekend since I'm heading back to school this week coming since I was unable to the past week.
