I closed my eyes once more and thought about what I just dreamt of. I tried to recall what the boy in my dream looked like, but just couldn't because Merritt started yelling at me to get up.

Merritt is my best friend and I've known her like since forever. She's an idiot and a weirdo but a cool one.

"MERANDAAAA!!! ITS TIME TO GET UP!!!!!!!!!!" she shouted in my ear as I threw a pillow at her and groaned.

"Can't you ever settle anything without being violent?" she asked me while running her hand over her shoulder whee the pillow hurt her. "pillows hurt you know"

I opened my eyes to look at Merritts tall frame. she was currently standing next to my bed smiling down at me, her blonde hair pulled up into a bun. She was wearing shorts and a yellow t-shirt and by the way yellow is her favorite color.

" Meranda seriously come on, get up!" she pleaded "aren't you excited for today?"

I unwantedly got out of bed and walked to my dresser still thinking about the boy from my dream. Why did he look so much like me? My dark wavy hair fell to my back and I stared back into my hazel eyes. There were shadows under my eyes because of my lack of sleep. Now that it was summer, those shadows will go away soon. People often told me I was drop-dead gorgeous for a thirteen year old but I didn't exactly see it.

"Meranda are you even listening to me?" Merritt asked as she looked at me.

"what did you say" I asked Merritt shaking my head of other thoughts.

Why was i not focused? I have no idea why that boy means so much...

"Meranda, I asked you if you're excited for today?" she said but this time with a worried expression on her face.

"What's today? I tilted my head to the side a bit confused.

Merritt walked close to me and giggled, "TODAY'S THE N-SYNC CONCERT" she yelled in my ear which made me flinch. It took me a while to soak those words in...wait, today's the concert!

"OMG YOU'RE RIGHT! I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THE CONCERT!" I yelled and Merritt started jumping around.

Just then, my mom walked in. She was a tall and slim woman with grayish eyes and golden hair. I always wondered why I was so different looking from my parents. My eyes were hazel while both my parents had grayish eyes. It didn't quite fit but oh well... I still loved my parents.

"What are you two girls doing" my mom asked with a slight British accent to her tone . Both of my parents and I used to have a british accent because we used to live in England. We moved to Miami when i was 5 and picked up the American accent. Merritt found this very interesting and would often try to pull off a British accent in my presence. It was actually amusing how she would miserably fail.

Both Merritt and I screamed and told her how excited we were about the concert.

My mom smiled back at both of us and then handed me an envelope. "What's this" I asked as I took the envelope.

She smiled down at me "why don't you have a look " she said and left the room.

I looked over at Merritt who was also eager to open the envelope. We both sat on my bed and took a closer look at the envelope. It was clearly from Wolverhampton, England.

I was originally from England so this letter could be for anyone. I opened the letter and read who it was from-

It was from my Childhood Friend Liam Payne...

I smiled at the sight of his name and decided to read the letter.

Dear Meranda

It's been a while since I've last talked to you because of school and all but I hope you are doing okay. School's quite tough and my phobia of spoons is more than ever. Yesterday I went to my mum's friend's house and she served some food. The only problem was that I had to use a spoon and I was about to cry. If only the world didn't have any spoons but Ah well... Anyway, I have big news for you. Remember when I used to sing all the time and I said I wanted to be a singer... and then once you told me I sang really well? I started singing a lot more and my mum noticed and she really likes my singing. So I decided to do something you can't even think of. I'M GOING TO AUDITION FOR X-FACTOR! I know I'm only fourteen but so what? Anyway that was the big news. I'm going to see you very soon so take care!

-Liam

P.s. IM GONNA BE ON TV!

I took me a while to take in what I just read, Liam going on x-factor and all. OMG, My friend Liam Payne is going to audition for x-factor! What if he wins! He'll be famous and I'll be his manager and tour with him and omg! I smiled at the thought and handed the letter over to Merritt to read. Merritt knew who Liam was but she hadn't met him just yet. She's wanted to meet him because he's obviously a boy who's a year older than both of us. I've shown her pictures of him but I guess meeting someone is different.

I looked at Merritt and noticed she had finished reading the letter. She was now looking at me with wide eyes and a huge smile.

"Honestly Meranda, When are you gonna introduce me to Liam? I really want to meet him" she pleaded with the best puppy dog face she could make.

"Calm down Merritt, maybe soon" I replied smiling at my friend. I took the letter from Merritt's hands and put it where the rest of Liam's letters were placed, in a box where I keep my most valued belongings. It was more like a treasure chest which was why I loved it. I turned back to walk towards Merritt.

"I Guess we should get ready for the concert...what do you say?" I asked her as we both got ready for one of the best days of our life!

*a few weeks later*

"MERRITTTTTTT, COME ON! LIAM'S GOING TO THE JUDGES HOUSE TODAY!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs trying to get Merritt away from the pool into the house.

"Ugh fine... I'm coming" she replied while drying herself with the towel. Merritt and I have been swimming in the pool since noon. I stayed over at her house for the weekend because I had nothing better to do and today is the day Liam sings at the judge's house. After drying ourselves we walked into Merritt's room to watch the X-Factor.

Merritt and I sat on the bed waiting for Liam's turn as we made little conversation because we both LOVE X-factor and wouldn't want to miss anything. It was a matter of time before Liam's turn came up and we were both very excited.

I smiled at the sight of my best friend on TV and couldn't help but clap after his performance. Merritt clapped with me and said a few things about how cute Liam is. It was all going very well but it was the next part that killed me.

"No... no, no, no, no, no...." I thought to myself. Liam could not go home... he couldn't lose but he did and there's nothing I can do. Seeing him break down like that was heart breaking and this was one of those times I wished I was with him to comfort him.

Merritt and I were now just shocked because of Liam not being able to continue with X-Factor. But Simon did have a point, he was too young.

"Meranda, Are you okay?" Merritt asked me shaking me out of my thoughts. I smiled and nodded not trusting myself up to speak. I was still lost in thought about how Liam's doing right now
