Death Note.

Chapter 3

I called Morgan over and over again hoping for a reply, but there was nothing.

Then suddenly Morgan's picture flashed over the screen of my TV, I rose the volume. The reporter on the news started to speak.

"18 year old Morgan Hebert was found killed in the woods outside of town. Police say that a note was left behind just like the other two murders, the hunters who found the body said it was gruesome. A life cut short by the hands of a psycho "The reporter said.

I stared at the TV not believing what was said just said, my dad ran downstairs. He stopped and looked at me.

"She can't be dead ......she can't "I said.

Tears wanted to come out my eyes but nothing came, I was just full of shock.I couldn't believe my best friend was here a moment ago and gone the next.

I knew the killer would come after her, but I thought I would be able to stop them.But, I guess I was wrong.I grabbed my coat and quickly placed my shoes on.

My dad grabbed my hand.

"Where are you going, Nina "my dad shouted.

I pulled away and ran out the house.

I sat in detective's Shelly's office, the door opened and she walked in.

"Nina what are you doing here "Shelly said.

"Tell me what the note said "I yelled.

"Nina...... "Shelly said.

"Tell me! "I shouted.

Shelly looked at me and placed her coffee and briefcase on her desk.She walked over to a cabinet and opened it, she shuffled through the folders until she pulled one out.

She placed the note on the table.It said.

"Just like Nina's mother....don't know how to keep things hidden."

I stared at the note.

"I'm glad you came....I was going to stop by your house to talk about this.....the murderer obviously knows you and your mother "Shelly said.

I placed the knife that I found in the hospital room on Shelly's desk, I had it wrapped up in a piece of cloth.

Shelly looked at it.

"What the hell is that Nina? "Shelly asked.

"Run a DNA test on the blood on this knife.....it's probably going to match that college kid who got killed."I stated.

Shelly placed a glove on and examined the knife.

"Nina what the hell are you doing with this knife! It's making you guilty of something I know you didn't do! "Shelly shouted.

"Shelly....we are in this together even though you won't admit it.....the murderer was in my hospital room ....he left this underneath my hospital bed.....I went back to the hospital to try and find out who was in my room when I was there but me and........Morgan found this "I answered.

Shelly looked at me.

"So your saying the murderer killed Morgan because of this."Shelly asked.

"Morgan threatened to go the police ....I wanted to stop her but she was too stubborn ......the killer probably found out, about her going to the police with this and......killed her."I answered.

I looked at Shelly, she looked confused and shocked.I got up, Shelly quickly looked at me.

"Where are you going"Shelly asked.
