Chapter 4

Tears filled my eyes as I walked faster, I couldn't help but think about all these things.I was so frustrated, and scared.

Not only was my best friend just killed, my mother had a secret life I knew nothing about it. How was I suppose to find this killer if I'm now finding out more things?

Suddenly I tripped and fell.

"Shit "I mumbled.

"You alright? "a voice said.

I looked up and saw Shelly, she held out her hand. I quickly got up on my own.Shelly smiled at me.

"You look hungry .....let me buy you something to eat "Shelly said.

We sat down at a table, I quickly picked up the menu and looked through it.

"What's going on "Shelly asked.

"I found out my mom had a boy who was head over heels for her

.....they slept together a few days before she died......"I answered.

I felt like I could tell Shelly everything that was going on, and she wouldn't judge.

"Nina? "Shelly said.

"Yeah " I answered.

"This is way to much for you ....you look so sleepy, angry, scared and hungry."Shelly said.

I got up.

"I'm all those things but I can do those things once that psycho is in jail "I stated.

I quickly walked out the restaurant, I looked in a cafe window to see my dad.I placed my hoodie on and started to walk slowly past the window.

My dad was talking to a female.I got a little closer and looked at the female face, it was my aunt Layla. Why would my dad talk to her? I started to walk faster,I knew something was going on.

I wanted to find out what it was.

"Nina! "a voice yelled.

I stopped walking, I slowly turned around.I saw my aunt Layla walking towards me.She finally caught up to me.

"I knew it was you "Layla said.

I looked behind her.

"Did my dad see me "I asked.

"Yeah, I told him I wanted to talk to you alone."Layla answered.

"Look, Layla I don't have time for you or this .....I'm done talking ...right now I'm just into doing."I stated.

I started to walk, just then aunt Layla grabbed my arm spinning me around to face her. She slapped me right across my face.

I glared at her.

"Your a child! You don't have the right to talk to me like that no matter what your going through! "Layla shouted.

"I'll talk to you and anyone how I want "I said.

I walked away, I wanted to just escape this world I use to call home.I sat on a bench at the park.I touched the cheek that my aunt Layla slapped.I knew it was swollen and bruised.

Someone suddenly sat next to me, I looked up and saw Jason. I got up but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back down to the bench.

He held my face with both of his hands, I looked up into his blue eyes. His thumb stroked the side of my cheek that my aunt Layla slapped.

"That looks like it hurts."Jason said.

I slowly pushed his hands away.

"Leave me alone.....please "I stated.
