It took me a minute to regain myself but I couldn't let James see how I actually felt so I played it off.
"Mr.Trask is not your brother" I teased.
"Well we're half brothers but still brothers. When I was 1 and he was 8 our parents got married to each other, so we grew up together. I never tell anyone this but your a cool girl Jess"
I smiled. Of course I would ending up starting to like the brother of the guy I loved. Thats how my life worked. Well now I knew, that this had to end.
It had been two weeks since James told me about Jay. We went on one more date since then but I didn't let anything happen. I was actually trying to avoid him.
I was so confused because I actually liked James. He was so cute, and so smart, and sweet but what about Jay. I mean, this is his brother.
It shouldn't matter right ? Jay and I are not together. I should be able to date his brother. No. I can't. It sounds so weird and gross. I have to end it.
I was studying for a test tomorrow when my phone started ringing, when I answered it, I recognized that voice anywhere.
"Jay, Hi" I said.
"Hey Jess, how are you?"
"Great, what about you?"
"Good. I know what you said about the calling but-"
"Jay your free to call me whenever you want." I said cutting him off.
"Thats good to here, but I do have some good news" he said.
"What?" I asked.
"I'm coming back to Albany" he said.
My heart stopped. Just for a minute. I've been waiting for this moment.
"Are you serious?" I asked excitedly.
"Yea, Albany offered me my job with more pay, and its not that great down here so I accepted."
"That's great, so when are you coming back?" i asked.
"Soon" he said.
"I really can't wait to see you." I said
"You to, I really miss you"
"I miss you to"
"See you soon okay?"
"See you soon" I said smiling through the phone.
My heart felt like it was doing backflips. Jay was really coming back. We were going to be together again.
I told James that I didn't want to date him. He was so sweet and said he understood. He agreed to just be friends. It was really hard for me to do that but it was also the right thing to do.
I know where my heart belongs, and it belonged to Jay.
Sorry for the boring chapter 😓 I'm seriously running out of ideas. But I'm going to start a new story soon so look out for that 😊
