Chapter Twenty-Five

It was the first day of Spring Break. I was in such a good mood. I was doing great in all of my classes and now I just wanted some time to relax.

I climbed out of bed and made myself some Lemon tea. I stopped drinking coffee for a while. Dad kept complaining about it so now I'm a tea person.

I sat on the kitchen counter sipping my tea and checking my phone. I got a few messages from Chris so I called him.

"Hey Jess" he said answered.

"Good morning"

"Happy Spring Break" he said.

"Right back at you" I laughed "so what's up?" I asked.

"I'm packing for Florida"

"Oh yea I forgot about the Florida trip"

So basically of kids planned this huge trip to Florida for Spring Break. They were just gonna party and stuff. You know the usual college spring break experience.

I wanted no part of it. I mean sure, it did sound found but it would be me third wheeling it with Chanel and Chris so I decided not to go.

"I'm telling you, you should really come. You need to do some partying" he said.

"Nah. Im good" I said.

"What are you gonna do in New York for the whole break?" He asked.

"I'll find something"

"Well I'll catch you later" he said.

"Bye"

As I hung up. I heard noises and voices coming from the hallway. I wonder what was going on. I walked to the living room and turned the tv on when I heard a knock.

I opened the door & of course it was the one and only Jay. I jumped on him so hard he almost fell. There were boxes at the top of the steps.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming today, you liar" I said jumping off.

"I wanted to surprise you" he said kissing me.

I hugged him so tightly. "You don't know how much I missed you" I said.

"I know. I missed you to. I just wanted to be here with you everyday so when they offered me my job back, I had to take it"

I couldn't help but smile.

"I missed your smile" he said leaning down and kissing me. "I'm going to take you out tonight, so I'll be back around 9"

"Okay" I said smiling.

It was 9:00 and I was done getting dressed. I put on my favorite short white dress, white heels and I curled my hair. Jay used to love when I curled my hair.

He showed up moments later with flowers.
It was daisy's my favorite.

"You look beautiful" he said.

"Thank you" I said kissing him on the cheek.

We drove for a little while until we pulled up to a dock. On the dock was a table with candles and food. It was so pretty.

"What is this?" I asked.

"I was trying to be romantic. Did I do good?"

"This is amazing. I love it"

He held my hand and led me to the table set up. We sat and began eating. It was Penne with tomato sauce and grated cheese.

"Everything is so perfect tonight." i said.

"It had to be"

"Whats the occasion though?"

He reached over and grabbed my hand.

"Jess I know this might seem silly but the first time I met you, I instantly knew I had to pursue you. You were beautiful. You still are" he said chucking.

"You were so dedicated in my class and I love that about you. I have never met anyone that made me laugh so much. I love your smile. I love your eyes. I love your personality. I just love you, and I love the way you make me feel. I love the way you look when you just wake up. I love the look of confidence you have when you get dressed up.I love the way I feel when I'm around you and in your presence. I want to feel like this everyday, all the time. I know I was away for a short time but being away from you made me realize how much I needed you"

He went in his pocket and pulled out a small box. My heart stopped. Was he about to do what I think he was. Am I dreaming ?

He placed the box on the table and opened it, and there was a ring.

"Don't be frightened. I know you don't wan't marriage right now but I want us to get married someday and I want you to wear this ring, in reminder of that. So will you accept my pre-proposal"

"Yes" I said nodding. Tears began falling.

"I love you" I said hugging him.
