She stumbles to the window sill
And stares up at the sky
The moon has brought the dark to kill
The confinements of her mind

She's forced to follow life's rote tasks
While the moon's allowed to drift afar
Her dreams are locked inside a casket
And so she envies all the stars

Once the light consumes the gray
She's on her own again
The sun has come to take away
Her only trusted friend

She wishes the night would stay forever
When suddenly her heart falls
They're stuck inside this cycle together
The moon isn't free at all
