Cobra turned his head and then walked slowly into the swarm of dragonets. The music room was closer than he thought, practically across the hallway. He could reach it, he could, if the dragons around him stopped stepping on his feet or slapping him with their tails. He pushed his way into the music room, which seemed rather...empty. Cobra turned and saw a huge brown chest with golden linings across the lid. Carefully, he opened it with one talon and the chest revealed lots and lots of different sizes and shapes of all kinds of instruments. He saw one that caught his interest.
He pulled it out, the sunlight gleaming on its strings. It was rather large, reaching up to at the height of his snout. I wonder what this does, he thought. The strings started of from a large length from the end, then began to be smaller and smaller, up to the corner of the instrument. Cobra plucked one string. It let out a soothing, high pitched ting.
Cobra continued plucking the strings. Soon, the tiny bits and pieces of the sounds turned into music. He hoped someone would notice him, because he was eager to be admired.
So his wish came true.
A couple of dragonets came into the room slowly, their ears twitching at the music. They started whispering and smiling at Cobra. He smiled back shyly. He wasn't used to be surrounded by a crowd of unknown dragons, staring at him. It gave him a creepy sensation.
But they weren't staring. They were spaced out, actually listening to his music.
When he finished, everyone cheered and swatted their wings. Cobra lowered his head shyly and smiled. Scorpion jumped out at him. "Cobra! That was awesome!! You never told me you played the harp!" she exclaimed through the cheering of dragons. So it's called the harp, he thought. "U-Uhm...Well, I just started. Was I really that good?" He asked. Scorpion smiled and nudged him. "Yeah, you were pretty good! Anyways, I'm gonna go to my dorm. Too bad we're not in the same winglet." She said her goodbye and disappeared into the hallway.
Cobra decided to go to his dorm as well. He walked through the crowd and hid himself into the sleeping dorm. Except he wasn't alone.
"Heeeeeere's MUSIC BOY," giggled a voice. Cobra looked up and saw two female dragonets sitting closely together on top of the ledge. One was a happy NightWing with a gray underbelly, and the other was a gloomy RainWing, her scales switching between white and green. "...Is that me?" he squeaked. The NightWing rolled her purple eyes. "Who else could we be talking about? Of course it's you," she smiled. "Oh." Cobra said. Let's hope this won't be a catchy nickname, he thought.
The NightWing blinked twice before lowering her head to see Cobra more clearly. "My name's Fortuneteller, and this is Daisy!" She nudged the RainWing beside her. "And we'll be your clawmates!" Fortuneteller looked at Cobra for a moment. "And you are...?" she started. Cobra blinked. "Cobra," he said. She smiled. "Hi, Cobra! I'm gonna go to the prey center now. I hope to see you there!" she said and flew down to the floor and rushed out of the dorm.
Daisy sighed. "You don't have to talk...I'm just gonna stay here and sleep..." she said with a scratchy, tired voice and slowly rolled over onto her back. Cobra looked around. "Uh...G-Good night?" he stammered. Alright then, so far I know Oyster, Daisy, and Fortuneteller from my dorm...And they're all girls, he thought miserably, although they aren't so bad...
