Cobra was so excited he thought he might burst out of his scales. He scrambled over to a rusty brown tent, which smelled like roasted camels. "I'm going today!" He squealed, his talons scraping against the stone floor. His sister, Scorpion, casually rolled her eyes. "Big deal. So we're going the the Academy. Why do you have to be so irritating about it?" She grumbled, stretching her wings which nearly hit Cobra. He smiled and quickly ran out of the tent, his heart filled with unusual joy. I'm gonna make so many friends there! He thought, spreading his wings, ready to take off.
Wind brushed against his scales as his wings beat excitedly in the air. The desert beneath him was turning into pure grass and stone. Almost there! He thought. "You're happy," Scorpion smirked, catching up to him. "I know, but it's just so cool! I finally get to meet dragons from other tribes, since mother kept us locked up in the tower forever," said Cobra, nearly missing a wingbeat. Scorpion sighed and nodded her head in agreement. The clouds ahead of them cleared to show a tall, large mountain with two peaks at the top, like snake fangs ready to shoot venom.
They slowly dove onto the ground, their talons touching the soft grass. "Wow! Grass!" He smiled. Scorpion glared at him in embarrassment. "Geez, don't say things like that every SECOND," she hissed, and gently flicked her tail against his. Cobra ignored her and looked around. There were mostly SeaWings around, and two NightWings came along. One of them was pitch black, and his eyes were a deadly blue. Cobra shuddered when he glared at him.
That's odd, he thought curiously, I thought NightWings were usually purplish-black. Cobra saw that Scorpion and the other dragons were already caving into the tunnel which yawned open. His heart beat raced as he excitedly ran into the tunnel.
Lamps glowed on the top, which brightened the place up. He saw a small, wooden shelf stacked with scrolls, and a sign above it said: Maps are here! Cobra saw some dragonets already grabbing some scrolls, so he thought he might as well. He took one out and unrolled it. It clearly showed colored arrows pointing to their sleeping dorms, and Xs marking their classrooms.
"What's a clawmate?" Asked a green SeaWing, reading the bottom of the scroll. "We'll find out sooner or later. Now come on, let's go to the prey center! Let's hope they have squids," said an aquamarine SeaWing with a necklace made of small seashells around his neck. I'll go there too, but I want to find out who the dragons are in my sleeping dorm, he decided. Once he rolled the scroll back up, he walked over to a large cave, his talons scraping against the stone floor, like back home.
The dorms were larger than he'd imagined, their was a stone ledge to sleep on, a vine-mended hammock, a leafy and moist nest at the bottom, a smooth, perfectly polished ledge of wood, nailed to the stone wall, and a pool of water next to the nest. Cobra saw a scroll, unrolled, pinned to the wall. It said:
Welcome to the Jade Mountain Academy!

SkyWing: Thunder"Wow," Cobra whispered. He examined the scroll a few more times before setting it down. His heart was still hammering with excitement. As he turned around, a SeaWing with very light blue scales, almost white, glared at him. She wore a pearl necklace and an amber piercing in her ear. "aHEM," she coughed. Cobra's eyes looked left to right before responding. "Y-Yes?" He said. The SeaWing arched her short neck. "You're in my WAY!" She yelled. He whimpered and scooted away, and let the growling SeaWing over to the pool of water in the floor.
"RIDICULOUS! They expect me to sleep in THIS?!" She screamed as she splashed around the pool of water. Cobra dodged the droplets of water that landed on him. "U-Um, please calm down..." He said quietly. She muttered something under her breath. "They have no respect for the daughter of Tsunami," Cobra's eyes widened with interest and curiosity.
"Daughter? You're the daughter of Tsunami?" He asked. The SeaWing glared at him once again and quickly jumped out of the pool. "Yes, of course. Oyster, the princess," she scowled. He didn't say anything. Cobra didn't know royalty can be in the academy.
Oyster flicked her tail and headed towards the exit. "Before you go," Cobra pleaded, "Where is the music room?" Cobra loved music. It lets him relax. She rolled her eyes and pointed her snout in the air. "Go directly to your left," she said and left the dorm, disappearing into the storm of different dragons waking down the hallways. Cobra stared at his talons. I wonder where Scorpion is, he thought.
