Cobra woke up. He realized he had been sleeping on his back, and purring quietly like a pleased pet. He blinked hard, regaining his focus. "Blue?" He said, his voice echoing. Cobra turned around and stood up. Blue wasn't in the cave.

Oh, gosh, please don't tell me she abandoned me, he quickly thought, panicking silently. The crack in the cave was closed, and there was no way out. Only the small fire in the cave remained flickering in the darkness. How could she just leave me? I knew I shouldn't have trusted a stranger!

He couldn't even tell what time it was. Was it nighttime? Did he oversleep?

Just then, a loud cracking noise burst. Cobra's neck turned, facing the noise. Little purple sparks were floating around. Then, the cave parted and there was an entrance, the sunlight pouring into the dark cave. Blue walked inside with a gecko between her teeth.

Cobra sighed in relief. "Good morning!" Blue said cheerfully, dropping the gecko on the ground. The gecko was lifeless, and it seemed like she had broken all of its puny bones. "Um..I-I thought you left me," Cobra said quietly. Her ears twitched and she smiled. "Aw, why? Did you really think I'd leave you? You? The one who can't even defend himself?" She teased. Cobra growled internally. "I'm kidding. I left for breakfast! I swear, these little monsters are the only things lurking around this area. And they are fast!" She exclaimed, and nudged the gecko towards Cobra. "Hope you like it."

He gulped and stared at the dead animal. "Are you sure you don't want it?" He asked nervously. Blue rolled her eyes. "Meh. I ate a week ago," she said. Cobra sighed. Well, better this than nothing, he thought grossly, lowered his neck and bit the small gecko. He swallowed it. Cobra licked his lips and tried his best not to puke. It was the worst thing he had eaten in years.

Blue was tossing more sticks into the fire, and then sat down. "Today, we go out to the Rain forest to warn Glory about the SkyWings," she said. Cobra opened his mouth. "You know what happened?" He said worryingly. Blue nodded. "I got it in a vision. A needle bomb exploding in the hallway. That's the reason your back is hurt, I presume?" She asked. Cobra looked down. "No," he said bitterly. "It was something else." Blue nodded. "Anyway, we're gonna warn Glory, and then we'll gather healing supplies there. Once we're ready, we'll go to the Mud Kingdom to talk to Queen Sleetch about the defenses for the Academy's safety. But if that fails, we have a Plan B: Go to the Kingdom of Sand. That's where you get us in," she smiled, showing her teeth in the fire's light. Cobra's head tilted. "You planned that all out?" He said. "Yup!" she replied. "Oh, yeah! I forgot to tell you. If Scarlet gets in our way, we'll have to fight her."

Cobra's eyes widened. "Fight her?! Are you crazy?! She'll scorch us to ashes, there's no way I'm fighting her!" Cobra retorted quickly. Blue looked taken back. "W-Well, what else should we do? Run away? Look, the reason we're doing this is because we want to protect the Academy. It was built for peace, no?" She said, frowning. Cobra's tail twitched. "Then why do you need me? There are plenty of other dragons that you could've chosen to go with you."

Blue squinted. "...Stop talking," she said, "and you'll figure out why on the way."

Figure it out on the way? She's getting on my nerves, he thought. Why did I agree going with her in the first place, anyway...

He didn't realize how long it has been since he's been out on some sort of adventure. Back in the Kingdom of Sand, he and his family lived at the top of a tower, not far from Queen Thorn's stronghold. His mother was very self-conscious about everything, and she was worried that if she let him and his sister out in the open world, they would die and perish. So, without warning, she locked them up in the tower ever since.

Scorpion was rebellious, and loved adventures. She was exceedingly happy when she was accepted in the academy.
Cobra, was happy as well. But, he didn't know, that once he saw what horrible things can happen, he began to be...scared.

Was this an adventure? Or a mission?

There was a huge difference.
