CHRISTMAS SEEMED TO COME AND go all too quickly. One minute it was only December the first, and suddenly it was the twenty-sixth, and all the build-up to the big day had ceased to make way for New Year. However, they did say that time flew by when you were having fun, and I sure as hell had experienced the best time while being with Harry. Him simply wanting to be with me was the best Christmas present he could possibly give.

But of course, that wasn't happening, for he had went out of his way to make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world by handing me a large, neatly wrapped box on the festive morning.

It had been much more neatly wrapped than my present to him - I'd managed to tear the paper in several areas and the ribbon on top was no longer curly. In conclusion, I wasn't the best at wrapping presents.  I'd apologised to Harry as he'd began to shred the wrapping from the books and his face had lit up after finding the classics I'd got him.

"Jane, oh my God," he gasped, smiling widely at me. His green eyes were bright, full of happiness. I just threw my arms around him and held him close as he thanked me over and over. Funnily enough, he seemed more desperate for me to open my present. After a little persuasion to get on with it, I picked up the gift and peered at it curiously.

Louis leaned closer. "What is it?" he asked like a curious child.

"Well, if you'd actually let me open it, we'll find out," I told him and he just raised his hands in a mock-surrender gesture before telling me to proceed.

Liam sat on the couch beside Harry, a glass of wine in his hand. It was nice to see him and Louis out-with work, being served drinks instead of actually serving them. They seemed to be enjoying themselves and I was glad. Who didn't enjoy themselves at Christmas? And especially after the effort Harry had put in to cook up a wonderful meal (with my help) and invite them into his home. He really was incredible.

We'd decorated the house in a mad flurry, thinking we'd manage to get it done just a few days before Christmas. Of course, with my bad luck and Harry's clumsiness, it took several attempts to make the house look reasonably beautiful with bright lights and sparkling baubles for the tree. Harry nearly had the thing falling over when he was trying to put the star on top but thankfully everything went according to plan - in the end, anyway.

The box in my hand felt relatively heavy, and when I shook it from left to right, the thing inside seemed to rattle, which made me wonder if it were the one thing inside or several. With another impatient urge from Louis, I began to tear at the wrapping paper, my eyes never leaving Harry. I'm going to love this, I realised. Whatever it is, it's going to melt my heart.

I shredded the paper and looked down at the sparkly gift box. Carefully, I lifted the lid and peered inside and I smiled widely. It was an assortment of bits and bobs, and my heart leapt up to my throat.

"Harry," I managed. "Thank you."

"Do you like it?" he asked, seemingly worried. "Are they alright?"

"Better then alright," I chuckled as I pulled the items out one by one. Scented body wash, quality colouring pencils, a necklace, chocolates and a small silver box at the bottom. I squinted at it as I pulled it out, wondering what on earth it could be. It looked like a jewellery box, perhaps a bracelet? "What's this one?" I wondered aloud.
