02:34 p.m.

Ben's plane had embarked and Skye decided it was time to leave and go home to finish homework that she had actually had to hand in today but because it was her birthday and Ben was leaving so her parents said she could bunk.

She stood up from the cold, steel chair that she had sat on for the past hour or so. She stretched her back and rolled her neck, man those seats were uncomfortable! Before she left she decided to get some snacks from the vending machine. After grabbing a pepsi and some salty pretzels she stepped outside of the airport.

She stepped outside and the wind blew cool air onto her pale face. Something inside felt wrong it's something no one can explain but everyone feels, down in the pit of your stomach. It's horrible, no it's scary. Her heart pumped and raced with fear but then she heard them,

Sirens.

They wailed, screamed, shouted and cried.

02:46 p.m

People everywhere were running away from something, but what was it? What were they screaming at?
What were they running from?
Why were they crying?
And then she did something that she will regret for the rest of her life.

Curiosity got the better of her and she ran, not away but towards. She knew she shouldn't have and she kept telling herself that but she couldn't stop herself, she needed to see for her self. Everything around her blurred and seemed to be in slow motion. People looked at her clearly questioning her actions but as I said before she couldn't stop herself. Chaotic masses of people flooded the streets at she was scared so scared.

Ben's plane had taken off a few minutes ago, he was safe. But was she?

There Skye stood in front of the deadly, powerful, majestic, dangerously beautiful, but the scariest thing some of us fear throughout our lives and never think will come but we were wrong, oh boy were we wrong.

The wave stood 133ft above the ground about 750 meters away from where Skye stood moving closer and closer, creeping up Skye's spine whispering in her ear. So she did what us humans tend to do, run. She knew it was hopeless but what she feared more and most was not being able to see Ben and the rest of her family ever again.

She ran and ran, her lungs on fire and her vision blurred from the tears forming in her eyes. Of course she wasn't fast enough, most people weren't.

The wave picked her up and pulled her back, turning and tumbling, pushing and pulling her. Things in the water smacked and slapped against her and death was at her finger tips. All she could see was water, water everywhere her lungs burned and longed for air. She tried to keep calm and she did the best she could regarding her situation. She wondered if Ben had seen the wave, where her parents were, if they were alright if she would be alright. Thoughts consumed her and enclosed her mind. She could see the red blood in the water oozing out her gaping wounds she then let out her first scream in which she lost her breath and then began to see the light.
