Chapter 5- Back in Time
I entered my sister's room and looked at the time machine. I never thought that time machines would exist or that evening going to the future or past was capable. I took a deep breath and touched the red button. Flashes of light came from the time machine. Everything turned blue, like if I was in space or in the black hole. I could see clocks around me moving backwards.Everything passed fast, the light was gone, and I could see everything again. This time I was not in my sister's room instead I was on a street. Everything was kind of different from the modern world. The cars on the street were different from the ones in 2015, some of them were long and others were squared. The clothes they were wearing were also different. The women on the street wore dresses or skirts, most of them had polka-dots or lines. There were not many designs, no women on the street was wearing pants. The men, on the other hand, they were wearing formal suits. No one had short pants, only long pants.
Even though I did not know the time that I landed, I guessed it was summer because the sun was burning me. I looked at myself and my clothes changed. I was not wearing the short pants and a short-sleeve shirt like I left, instead, I was wearing a beautiful dress that was red with white polka-dots. People were staring at me, wondering how I just suddenly could appear in the road. I tried to ignore them, so I left. I looked at my watch, the only thing that remained since I left; it was 3:00 p.m. According to the time machine, I only had 1 hour to change the world, or else the world will remain wicked and injustice will never leave.
As I looked around, I could see that many people were fighting. They were all rude to each other and had no respect; especially the rich to the poor. The poor were stealing food from shops, and the rich were judging the poor on how ugly and disgusting they were. I saw two kids fighting, one was poor and the other was rich. I went up to them and told them to stop and they should learn better than that.
Suddenly, they stopped like if I was a boss or a queen. They said sorry to each other, and suddenly turned to me. "Thank you" Said the two boys. I looked at them in the eye and guessed they were around 7 years old.
"For what?" I asked them. I was confused, why would they say thank you, all I told them was to stop.
"For teaching us the difference between right and wrong, and not to judge each other but to be kind and share with each other," The poor boy said.
"But I only said stop, I did not say anything else." I told them.
"No, you taught us to respect each other. It's like if your heart showed us the path to brightness." The rich boy said.
Surprised, I said "oh okay, well hope you become best friends."
Then they turned around and left. They were holding hands and laughing. People stared at them like if it was a weird thing. I did not understand this world.I continued walking, and things just got worse and worse but every time I said something to them, they would stop and become nice to each other. It felt like my voice was a curse, which turned evil into kind. That was when I realized what the prophecy meant, about killing injustice with my heart. My heart would change how people viewed each other, and my voice was the secret weapon.
Slowly by slowly everyone changed from mean to nice. The only way to change everyone in world from evil to good was if I talked to everyone. I could not go all around the world, or else it would take me years and all I had was 1 hour. I looked at my watch and it said it was 3:15 p.m. That meant that 15 minutes had passed since I left. I only had 45 minutes to change the world; this was going to be impossible.
I decided to go to the royal castle, and ask my mother or sister how I could save the world. The first I had to do was know what day it was, so I went to ask someone. The person said that today was July 23, 1950. I quickly calculated how old my sister would be if she was born in 1930 and she would be 19 years old. I asked the way to the royal castle, and that person told me the directions.
I tried to walk as fast as possible because I needed to get to the castle fast. Time was passing and I only had 45 minutes left. I walked and walked and I started seeing a castle, it got bigger and bigger the more I walked towards it. According to what I learned in History, the palace was supposed to be called the Buckingham Palace. The Buckingham Palace was made out of white marbles (I think) and had many windows. The English flag was right in the middle of the Palace. The Palace was full of guards. They had red uniforms and big long black hat.
I had no way to enter the Palace, especially since there were so many guards. The Palace was protected and there was no way in unless you were someone important. I can sneak in but if they catch me I'm dead. I said to myself. No, I must find a way inside without getting in trouble. I can pretend to be someone that I'm not. I saw some cars entering the palace from the front gate. I could sneak beside the car and no one should see me. Even if I did get caught, I could escape and be able to see my mother.
I slowly sneaked on the edge of the car; the two guards were all in the left so I hid on the right side of the car. Everything went well so far, no one realized I was there. Then I quickly ran behind a bush and waited for all of the guards to help the person inside the car. I saw all of the guards slowly moving towards the car, and decided that now was the time to move. I quickly ran towards the entrance of the castle without making a sound; no one realized so I was not caught.
I peaked outside the window, wondering who was coming out of the car, and then I realized it was my other sister, Queen Elizabeth the II which at that time was still Princess Elizabeth the II. That meant that my mother and father were still the King and Queen of England. As I looked around the castle, I wondered about how my life would be if I had lived in there; I would have had a rich life but I still loved my old life. The palace was beautiful and wonderful; it had paintings of all the kings and queens that used to rule England. The walls had different simple designs, and the lights were made out of glass. The floor had different carpets with different colors and patterns. There were many chairs, they looked so expensive. There were white, red and light blue chairs, they looked so comfortable and I really wanted to sit down but I could not waste any time. There were also statues of kings, queens, princes, and princesses but I did not know which statue was who.
I continued to walk slowly without making a noise; I had to get up stairs to my sister's room without making anyone notice. I needed to go talk to my sister. I tip-toed up the stairs and arrived to an enormous hall, it had many doors which lead to different rooms. I could not open every door because there might be people inside and they would see me. I remembered stories that my sister used to tell me, her door was the most creative one; the one with pink glittery words that said "Margaret". I searched for the door and I found it at the end of the hall. I knocked on the door. I could hear her tiny voice as she said come in. I slowly opened the door, wondering how she would look like when she was young.
