Bummed and disheartened after visiting the condescending school administration to get my semester's schedule and late arrival permission slip, I dragged my feet through the light blue corridors, trying to find my first class; World History. As I entered the room, the first thing that struck me was Ms Taylor' ear-piercing, sharp voice.

"You are late, Miss Steel!"

"Staying true to tradition," I commented light-heartedly as I idly stood at the entrance with my head tilted on the side as a wide unapologetic grin rolled over my face. I lifted up my pink slip form and moved forwards with wide steps towards her desk. I pinned the slip with my finger on her books and proceeded to the only empty seat in the class. Ms Taylor stared at me hard with her lips forcibly pressed together into a thin line, but after a moment the lesson went back on its usual introductory course.

After what seemed a century, the bell rang and I was off to find my best friend. My eyes were vigorously scanning the suffocating crowd for that pale tall girl with the memorably long black hair. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I quickly turned around only to be left half-hearted.

"Sophie! I missed you!" An over-enthusiastic shrieking man dressed in tight floral pants was hugging me in the middle of the corridor.

"I missed you too, Kyle," I softly mumbled. Kyle is like a bunny on cocaine. He is a pastel-colored ball of kindness but at the same time he is a constant personal-space invader, free-hugs advocator, with a basic common sense deficiency. Our conversation went on about the summer break and all the social changes that came with it; who broke up with who, who got together with who etc.

"Oh! And you know what, there is a new student!" New student, really? Who the heck wants to move to Clawstone and for what? "He is really hot Soph!" he squeaked in glee "I got such a mental-boner when I first saw him! Screw that! I got a real one as well!"

"Okay, stop it Kyle, you are getting too graphic again." I hushed him with my finger on his perky mouth. "Have you seen Meg at all?"

"Oh yes, I saw her. And ehm, she was, Black M... cough, approaching!" Kyle eyes were fixed on something threatening approaching from behind me.

I just decided to change one of my characters' name, from Gen (Genevieve) to Meg. Ugh, gotta go on each (published and draft) chapter and change it now, see you in a couple of hours.

Have you ever changed/wanted to change a character's name half-way into your story?

Let's hope I don't miss it anywhere, please let me know if you notice a Gen instead of Meg.
