"It's just a suggestion, Sir. Maybe another boy can lab-partner with Sophie, and a guy with Hunter." I liked that idea, and nodded with a grin of approval and desperation.
"Danny, not sure if you missed the World War Three that took place in this exact class a few moments ago, but none of you boys were keen to lose your lab-partners of years." Mr. Wilson placed both his palms on his miserable face and dragged slowly down, pulling and deforming his sunken eyes and cheeks.
"Well, I wouldn't mind lab-partnering with Sophie," Dan faced me with a sympathizing and gentle manner. Dan was a friend, with a past.
"Stevenson, is that cool with you?" a new hope was beaming in Mr. Wilson's eyes. The girls sensed that an agreement against their interests was soon to be made and so a new wave of enraged grumbling arose. Dan turned to his friend with pleading eyes, I read his lips mouthing 'I owe you,' and Stevenson forced a strained affirmative nod.
"Okay, done. Danny with Steel, Stevenson with Hunter. Swap." Mr. Wilson flapped his arms around like an orchestra's contactor. I dared not to look at Aiden. The whole time, he had been standing behind me and I could only imagine how low he thought of me after that. With a down-casted face, I shuffled to my seat next to the satisfied 'Danny'. His friend sat at the counter next to me and I hurriedly opened my textbook and pretended to read.
"Move." A deep-voiced commanding snarl sent shivers down Stevenson's spine and galvanized him into action. He hastily picked up his stuff and gave away his seat which was closer to me, to Aiden. I hesitantly leered at the stern and sort of irritated Aiden. He sat with a loud thud and kept his gaze fixed on me. He was trying to intimidate me by making it obvious that all his was staring at was me, his entire body was turned towards me. And he was succeeding. I nervously began shifting to my side towards Dan who was being all delighted and contented. I couldn't let Aiden affect me like that, despite his strong threatening presence.

Aaah Mr Wilson, he is legit my high school English teacher, Mr Harry. I miss that man so much, he was such a weirdo!
He used to say stuff in class like "This is not a democracy, this is a dictatorship". He'd also go very sarcastic and cynical and pessimistic. You could say he was a bit harsh, but I personally felt that he was such a caricature character.I will try and unearth my yearbooks, he always had the best lines in the Teacher Fun Q&A section.
UPDATE: Found it! Enjoy Mr Harry in all of his glory
- If you could be a superhero, who would you be? "Jesus, because I am being crucified on a daily basis"
- What is a school responsibility that you truly enjoy? "Not being around during holidays"
- Which movie would you star in and which character would you be? "Star Trek and I would be Captain Harry Tiberius Kirk of the USS Enterprise" (what a geek >.<)
- The funniest question I was ever asked was: "Would you like to meet my parents?"
