*Crystal's Point of View*

“Wow, she looks younger than my daughter and she already have a baby. Tsk, tsk. Teenagers nowadays.” A whisper reached my ears.

Ignoring all the whispering behind me, I walked a little faster to avoid starting a fight with the old lady. I felt my phone vibrate inside my jeans' front right pocket. Reaching for the gadget, I answered it without looking at the screen to see who is calling me at that very moment.

“Hello? Who is this?” I asked, pushing the baby bag further up my shoulders.

“Miss, it’s your nana Zoraida. I would like to inform you that your godfather has a party to attend to. It is going to be held at Hotel Centro tonight at 8, said an old woman's raspy voice.

“Thank you so much, nana! Is it okay if you babysit tonight? I will pick him up tomorrow or maybe tonight if I’m lucky enough to see ahjussi.” I said rather too loudly, earning me a few stares from some passers-by.

“Why, of course. Anything for you, my dear.” She replied in that sweet voice of hers that she usually use whenever I ask her a favor.

Walking for a good 10 minutes, I finally reached nana Zoraidas house. It was a small old Korean traditional house fit for two people. Nana lives all by herself since her husband passed away 6 years ago while her three children and two younger siblings live across the street.

“Nana, where are you? I left Luke on the the crib in the living room. Ill go after I freshen up and changed my clothes.” I called, entering the spare room that she lent me.

“Okay. I’ll bring the baby with me to my sister’s house just across the road so he can play with my grandchildren. Take care, darling.” She said, walking in the room, patting my head as if I am still a little kid and waving goodbye.

I nodded and gave her a small smile before taking a dress off my purple vintage luggage and heeading towards the bathroom. I only have at least an hour and a half to get ready considering that Hotel Centro is more than half an hour away, not even counting how long the traffic will last at this time.

Unconsciously tapping my foot along the beat of the song playing at the background, I felt someones presence beside me. Looking to the side, I saw a guy smiling down at me.

“Can I help you?” I asked kindly, arching my eyebrows.

Okay, I asked-- no, I snapped, but youll do the same if you were in my shoes. I have been standing here at the corner near the Hotels door for over an hour and I havent seen the person I was looking for.

“Hello, miss. I have noticed that you are not socializing with anyone so I assume that you came here alone. Would you mind if I accompany you?” The guy asked, a creepy grin plastered on his face. His pronunciation is kind of stiff but he did a pretty good job talking in English.

“Yeah, about that.. no, thanks. I’m fine by myself. Infact, I’m going to leave already. Excuse me.” I quickly denied his request and fast-walked out of that place.

It is a bit windy tonight and I didnt bother bringing a jacket with me. I rubbed my arms up and down with my hands to keep myself warm even though its no use.

Step, step, step, trip.

I stopped abruptly and leaned on the stone wall beside me and took off my high heeled pumps. Ah, it feels so good! My feet hurts so much for being trapped in that devil-spawned shoes. Honestly, heels and I dont really match together. I prefer comfortable ballet flats, sneakers and flip flops.

Looking up at the beautiful night sky, I inhaled a good amount of air. Walking at night relaxes me and helps me think of ways to solve my problems in some ways. Its quite peaceful here in Seoul.

A pair of heels tapping on the sidewalk echoed on the empty street that I am walking on. Huh, thats odd. I already took off my shoes, right?

Feeling someone walking behind me, I walked faster than my usual walking pace in fear of getting molested or killed in a dark road. Slowly looking back, I saw a glimpse of the man following me. An audible gasp escaped my lips when I realized that it was the guy from the party.

A fast tapping of shoes followed me. My heart started thumping wildly inside my chest, making my brain jumble with ideas on what should I do to keep myself safe in this kind of situation.

Run!

It was the only thing that popped in my mind and most accurate thing to do.

I ran and ran and ran despite the choking feeling that I was feeling for running so much when I am not even the fittest person.

I can hear deep breathing a few feet behind me.

Keep running. Faster. Faster! Don't look back, Crystal. I thought, adrenaline rushing through my veins.

“Oh, dear baby Jesus! Please don’t let him catch me. Please!” I prayed silently to the heavens above.

Turning a sharp right, I can hear vehicles pass nearby.

Having a hard time breathing, I still pushed myself to do run even more. Just a few more steps and I will be safe. Maybe.

I closed my eyes tightly, hoping for a prince in his white horse who will sweep me off my feet and carry me in arms to save me. I wish.

Oops, wrong move. A loud honk interrupted my thoughts. Bright headlights shone on my whole body, catching me if I was a deer caught in the headlights.

Before my brain can process what is happening, my feet tripped on an invisible unidentified object and passed out before I even hit the ground. Will anyone help me?
