Chapter six

So then as soon as they found the solution of what happened between the examiners, we finally get a chance to take a retest, which is great for Gon and the others. Although we are still confused about what happened earlier, and the main theme is definitely still cooking which sucks for them.

"Damn that's too scary don't you think?" I overheard a conversation between some guys who was having a conversation.

"Bah! I think we shouldn't worry too much, they said they will make it easier after all." The other man inside their group cockily replied.

"What a dumbass.." I mumbled to myself when Gon suddenly tapped my shoulder.

"LUCA! ARE YOU LISTENING?" Gon shouted right into my ears.

I was surprised by the sudden shout near my ears and i stepped into someone's foot. Crap. I almost fell when someone held my waist and pushed me back to that person's chest.

"W-Wha-" when i looked at my back to see who caught me it was Killua.

"T-thank you?"

"What kind of statement is that?" He frowned.

"I was....thanking you?" I asked him unsure of what i think.

"Then what are you so confused about?" He sighed, letting go of my waist.

"Anyway, despite your mystery figure you're pretty skinny aren't you?" Then he continued.

'Skinny- oh damn don't tell me that i've just raised his suspicion...' I gulped slowly, trying so hard to act calmly.

"Yeah well, i don't eat much except if my stomach starts to growl frequently." I shrugged, shaking the thought of me getting caught. I don't want that.

"Hmm? Is that so? Let me get a quick touch then!" Gon touched my waist and went down to get a better look at my figure when i stopped his hand from getting further.

"S-stop, shouldn't you think of your action first before doing it?" I tried to reasoned with him before it gets worser.

"Why?" He plainly asked after that, tilting his head to the other side.

'Are you freaking kidding me!?'

"Well for starter, we just met like a few hours ago so shouldn't you be a little cautious towards me or anyone in here?"

Then there were no response from anyone, they just stood quietly as if they were silently agreed with what i said earlier, until Gon broke the silence.

"To earn someone's trust you need to let people to get to know you first, right? And it's simple as that!"

I stood there speechless, he is one of those people who trust people so easily, isn't he? Then again i feel bad for someone like him somehow since trusting someone is risky this days.

"Well, that's Gon for you." I chuckled and the others were also smiling.

Fortunately since what happened earlier, Gon didn't push himself to touch me any further. It would be so embarrassing if he knows that i'm a girl, and i don't think i would be able to talk to him normally again after that.

As time passed by several minutes, we has arrived in our destination. We found ourselves in some weird place- i just couldn't explain it but i saw a cliff just 5 meters away.

"Hey, don't worry! Its only a river down there but it's very strong so if you don't want to die and get washed away you better be careful okay!" Her words were reassuring at first, but when we heard the river was strong some of the people got really pale because of their strong imagination if they fall down.

"And here we go!" She ran through the cliff and jumped at it, we were surprised and ran to see what happened to her but she was actually perfectly fine. Well there were nets that looked like Spider web, but much stronger to be able to hold her off like that.

"You have to grab the line okay!? And take one of the egg with you, after that..." She jumped through the rock and climbed up while holding her egg carefully.

"You're done!" She explained.

"...Riight.. If only it's that easy.." I looked at the cliff.

"We'll be okay as long as we're careful." Kurapika told me, he patted my shoulder and went in front of me.

"Eh? Wha-"

"This looks cool!" Killua said excitingly along with Gon.

"Yeah this one looks totally fine with me!" Gon replied with an exciting tone as well.

'These creeps just getting abnormal each second...'

As they ran towards the cliff and jumped, i followed them and tucked my hand into one of the nets to pick up the egg. Everyone followed us as soon as we jumped and they got their own eggs as well as ours.

"Hey, uh you don't really need to climb the rocks to get back there right?" I asked Menchi who looked at our progress with catching the eggs.

"No, not if you have some tricks behind your sleeves"

Upon hearing that, i could confirmed that i can use my magic to went back to the top so i murmured a spell to give me a support.

"La rhe za fay fielica!" As i casted the spell, i release my grip from the nets and fall to the huge darkness below.

A white magic circle appeared as i fall down, as soon as i made a contact with the magic circle it gave me a support to jump higher and it did, i went back to the top safely.

"Wha- hey that's cheating!" Leorio complained.

Probably because i was one of the few to got back so easily since some of the people who were there did really fall. It was actually an easy task, if there were so not many people who made a move. The thing is because of the other participants who made a lot of move that we had a trouble catching the egg, other than that no problemo.

I patiently waited for all of them who succeed to came back, and we boiled the eggs after that. Menchi had the tarantula eagle's egg and a chicken egg on her hands, she explained the differences between them. 10 minutes has passed and we're done cooking, each one of us tasted the egg and surprisingly it tasted so delicious, dang i actually wanted more but that would be weird.

Dang, no one could replace how much i love food.

"Maybe now i made you understand the joy of discovering new food?" Menchi grinned.

I smiled as i looked at her when suddenly there was a guy who came to Gon and said that he wanted a taste too, hell if i were Gon i wouldn't share it too him. Food is life, i never want to share my food to anyone. Meh.

"I failed this year but i'm going to try again next year." He decided.

And so the phase two has finally ended, it was so dramatic at first that when i tried to remember the first time i met Menchi, i smiled a little remembering at how stupid we were back then. 42 participants has qualified including me, Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio.
