"Soooooo." I said pushing on.
I walked up behind Thomas following him towards the table we usually sit at. I looked back at Layla while her eyes were wandering around. It looked like she was just trying to skim the room, looking at each and everyone.
"Hey guys !" I said greeting everyone at the table. Some just greeted me back and some gave hand gestures. "This Is Layla everyone." I said. Everyone greeted Layla and took her right in.
Layla turned to look at me.
"So, What's it like here?"
"What do you mean?" I asked laughing after I realized what I just said."Ya know? Like what types of people do you have here?"
I gave her a confused look.
"Like the populars, the regulars, nerds... Ya know?"
After I heard populars my head immediately turned towards Katy Bates.
"Yeah, I guess you can say that. I mean of course there are people like that in our school but, not your typical stereotyped populars". I said slowly.
"So nothing like Mean Girls?"
We both started laughing uncontrollably.
"No. Nothing like Mean Girls!" I said almost crying tears.
Way worse I said in my head."Hey Layla, do you wanna grab something to eat? I could show you...If you want...But if you don't its totally up to you...Only if you want though..." Thomas bolts in on our conversation.
Layla and I looked at each other. Layla giggled at Thomas's "Shy" gesture mostly because of how fast he was talking.
"Of course she wants you to show her how to go pick out her food and pay for it. I'm sure they didn't do that at her old school so she needs your assistance with that....Go ahead, carry on." I said sarcastically and empathizing "Your".
Layla Walked of with Thomas to the lunch line. Wow I thought. I couldn't figure out why Thomas was so shy around her.
"Aye what's up with new girl?"
I turned around and faced Nicole, who was giving me a look. It was a look I'd seen before. Her red- orange hair was pushed behind her ears and her hands on her hips.
"Nothing. " I said. "She just moved here."
Nicole walked over to where I was sitting. She turned and watched Layla buy her food from the cafeteria. "I don't like her." She said keeping her eyes on Layla.
"You don't even know her." I said starting to get annoyed."Okay, But you know when I feel like I don't like a person there's always a reason." she said crossing her legs. "Like that one time we had a new assistant principle and he turned out to be a criminal."
"He wasn't even a big criminal! All he did was still animals from the pet store as a hobby, you thought he was stealing everyone's identity in the school!" I said looking at Nicole with the look of annoyance on my face.
"Okay but still a type of criminal. Just because they were animals doesn't make it right."
The bell had rang signally lunch was over and that fourth period was next. Art was last for me so I couldn't wait till then. Nicole got up from her seat and began gathering her things. Noticing I didn't even eat all period made wonder how I'm gonna get through cooking knowing now, that I didn't eat breakfast nor lunch was going to interesting. I began to walk out of the cafeteria when I remembered Layla. Since her and Thomas were getting along so well I said what the hell to myself and walked out. She'll be fine I said to myself.

School was finally over and time to go home. I was getting ready to close my locker and catch the bus when Nicole came up beside me.
"Your catching a ride with me today. Okay?" She said walking away leaving me to stand there trying to figure out what she just said.
I closed my locker and caught up to Nicole and started to walk toward her car with her. Nicole had a red sports car that her dad bought her for her sixteenth birthday. Me myself didn't get a car instead, I got a rabbit...That died two days later but that's a story never to be told.
I hopped into Nicole's car and immediately put on my seatbelt. Getting into the car with Nicole was like signing up for your own death sentence, she drives way to fast.
"Are you gonna go to Nathan's party tonight?" She askes doing a little dance after.
"I wasn't invited." I said. "And plus its my dad's birthday today, he's gonna want me to stay in tonight".
"Omg Carly you never come out of the house unless you absolutely have to. You know what you need? You need to get laid."
"Omg your so gross!" I said laughing at how naturally this just comes out of Nicole.
"And your sex drive is incredibly low for your age. Haven't you ever thought about fucking him?"
"My dad ?! EW! Seriously your gross Nicole." I said
"No! Not your dad, Thomas..."
"Oh...No. Why would I ever think about that?" I said confused.
Nicole just gave me a look, like the one she gave me at school today.
"Seriously? I see the way you look a him and they way he looks at you..." She paused for a moment."Listen." I said "Me and Thomas have been friends for ever okay? I just don't see him like that. And I've decided that I'm taking a break from boys...Just until I figure out a way on how to know myself better."

Later that night I decided to cook my dad a meal for his birthday since I had no money for an acual present. But on the bright side I was a pretty good cook.
"Hey Louis can you come down here and help me!" I yelled to my brother from downstairs. I wait for my brother to come while I finish preparing the meal for the three of us.
