My doorbell rang. "Yay Adrian is here!" I thought to myself. I ran downstairs and swung the door open. My smile faded a little. It was just Kayla. I tried to keep up my enthusiasm. "You're here!" I said excitedly. Then something clicked in my brain. Kayla was early. She's never early. We both raced up to my room. I won of course. I jumped up on my bed and she say at my vanity, applying lip gloss she didn't need. I heard the doorbell ring again and mom said "I'll get it!" I heard her have a short conversation with Adrian. Good. She's here. My mom called me downstairs and I shouted back,"Coming!"
I ran downstairs to see Adrian waiting patiently at my door. I grabbed her hand. "Come on! Let's go!" i said. We raced up the stairs. just like Kayla and I did. "Okay, so what did you want to talk about?" asked Kayla. "I don't know. Today I was thinking about the dream and my dad and it just got so over whelming." I said. "Can we open a window in here? It's super hot." Adrian asked. "That's cause I'm in here." Kayla said sarcastically flipping her blonde hair over her shoulders. We all busted out laughing. Adrian pushed up my sleeves..... and I'm pretty sure my face looked like I just saw a ghost.
"Adrian......" I gulped. "What. Happened" Adrian looked down at her arms and immediately pushed down her sleeves. I walked over to her and pushed up her sleeves again and examined the bruises. Right now, Kayla was in shock. I looked Adrian in the eyes and asked,"Adrian, how?" She only needed a 2 word answer for the finger-looking bruises. Adrian answered with,
"My mom."
