“It will be alright...I will protect you, my empress...”
---
“Mommy...” Akatsuki mumbled as more tears streamed down her face. Akashi continued to wrap his arms around her.
He's emotions were all mixed up.
He's unhappy about what happened to his future mother-in-law.
He's furious, seeing Akatsuki crying.
And he is afraid. Afraid to lose her.
But of course, he wouldn't let his fear take over him. His arms tightened around the red haired girl who was crying her eyes out.
“We should go home now... You need to take a rest.” He spoke. “...N-no...I won't leave mom...” She answered as her voice shake in fear and sorrow.
“You don't need to worry. I'll make sure mother is well protected.” He patted her head gently. “Trust me.” He added.
Akatsuki replied with a nod. She looked down on the floor. But Akashi's soft fingers lifted her chin, making her look up to him.
He wiped her tears away and smiled softly. (>////<)
“S-sei-senpai...T-thank you..” She managed to smile back. Though her heart is still crying.
“Anything for you, my empress... We should get going now.” He said. Akatsuki nodded again. Akashi turned to Mrs. Akatsuki.
“Get well soon, mother. I don't like seeing my empress sad. And I don't like seeing you in that state...” He said with pure sadness in his voice.
Akatsuki walked towards her mother and kissed her forehead. “I love you, mom.” She whispered.

Akashi and Akatsuki went back to Akashi's mansion. The sorrowful silence filled his room as they both lay on the bed.
“Good night, Airam.”
“...G-good night...”
She closes her eyes slowly.
No.
I'm won't let mom die.
Never.
She fell asleep, exhausted of crying. Akashi, on the other hand, was wide awake. He stared at the ceiling.
He couldn't sleep, knowing that there's someone out there who wants to kill his beloved.
He's not afraid of the retard.
He's afraid of losing his beloved.
...I'll stay by her side. Forever. He smiled to himself.
