CHAPTER 08
I looked over my shoulder and saw Frank and Felicia sitting on a table for two, very much similar to ours. And they were talking and laughing and surely having a nice time. And let me tell you, under that light from the candles, Frank looked extremely gorgeous and stunning, no wonder the whole nation loves him. Felicia looked good too. The whole picture was a pretty nice scene.
“That’s him right?” asked Andy, breaking me from my long train of thoughts.
“Um… yeah it is… him. Yeah that’s him.” I replied and turned back to Andy, and explained further, “and no. I don’t think it’s a date kind of date” looking back at them. “Maybe it’s a… um a… friend kind of date.” And turned to face Andy and smiled again, then started munching on the steak again. But Andy still kept glancing at them and I couldn’t help but to look over as well.
And finally Andy confirmed, “No I’m pretty sure it’s a date, date. I mean look, he is holding her hand looking right at her eyes. Like clip from a romance movie.”
And I looked over to see exactly what he said. It sure seems so. It must be her that Frank was talking about. But I can’t let Andy know that, or that Frank is going straight. But at this point, we can play safe by saying that he might be bi…
“Maybe he’s trying bi or something.” I managed to say.
“And that is quite a scene you know, over there. I think their table’s got a better view too.” Said Andy still eyeing them suspiciously.
And I was dying out of curiosity, and I said “Would you mind if I come over to your side?”
To which Andy replied “not at all” and moved his chair a bit making me some space to come around. Gently and decently I moved my chair to his side so that we can both see what’s happening. As weird as it sounds, we were like stalkers watching them over. But I’m pretty sure that to the people who noticed us, it must had have seen as if we are seated like we are watching a movie or something.
We quietly continued on our food still eyeing them discreetly.
“Do you see that waiter with them?” asked Andy breaking the silence.
“Yeah” I replied studying the over groomed waiter with spiked hair, heavy load of black eyeliner and studs all over the face that shone under the dim light.
“He’s obviously flirting. And I saw him scribbling something before he hand them the bill, which I’m pretty sure was a number. And I also noticed how Frank grinned at it when he saw the bill and slightly shake his head at him.” Said Andy.
Well Frank… if you have a secret, you freaking keep it a secret. You don’t go around giving hints.
“Frank has a bit of an attitude you know. So he does that kind of stuff all the time. It’s no big deal.” I said as if it really doesn’t matter. But I knew that Frank would never reject a flirty guy, and this is the second one he is ignoring in one day.
And while we were still having the dessert, which was some fabulous raspberry and blueberry in cream thing, I noticed that they were leaving and I slowly nudged Andy who was heavily occupied in his dessert.
And we watched them heading to the front door. But even before I could look away from there, I saw Felicia and Frank rushing back in. And then I noticed that Frank was extremely freaked out. Not seconds later, another person with a camera came in. and I realized what was happening. Another girl came in with a recorder in her hand and the security started to send them away.
Only when I looked at the front door I got the whole picture when I saw a dozen people were standing right in front of the hotel waiting for them to come out. This isn’t good. Most of the media folks put some statement into your mouth and asks for confirmation. They never ask if you are pregnant. They assume you ARE pregnant, and they assume a father they prefer and asks where you going to have the baby.
“Give me a minute” I said to Andy and went to Frank and asked, “What’s wrong?”
And when he saw he seemed somewhat surprised and relieved. “They are asking if I’m dating her.”
I dragged him a little away from Felicia and asked, “Is it her?”
To which he replied “What???” with a very questioning look.
“The girl you told me last night, is it her?” I asked again.
“What? NO! That’s not her” he replied.
I thought for a minute and an idea popped in my head. I turned to Andy who had been watching us from the table, and asked him to come.
“You came with him? Here? Your date? Awesome!” said Frank sarcastically.
“You’ve got issues in so many levels” I replied and turned to Andy who came after paying the bill.
“They think that Frank is dating Felicia, and they can’t get passed them. So I’ve got an idea.” I told him.
They all waited till I explain further so I carried on, “we can all go out together and tell them that we were in a casual meeting or something.”
They all kept quiet and Frank started to nod his head, and Andy said “Let’s go ahead then.”
Andy led the way and we all came out of the hotel and stood there facing the crowd.
“There’s no need to make assumptions here or create a scene, we were just having a meeting about my show this week. This is Frank and Felicia from the show and this is their production assistant. So hope you guys would just let us through and have a good night yourselves.” Said Andy to calm down all the questions and cameras from the eager crowd.
“Is Frank going to be in the Andy Hoffman show?” questioned a blond girl from the crowd.
“Yes he is” said Andy slowly making the way towards the parking. And then more security came and sent most of them away so that we have a little space and time to leave. I noticed that Felicia got into her car and Frank got into his. I went to Andy and thanked him for everything.
“And thank you specially for spoiling you own show by leaking the guest appearance.” I said and said good night. Even though he insisted on dropping me home, I rather preferred taking a taxi. I needed some quiet time to go through everything that happened today.
It sure was a long day.
