Chapter 12: Somethings coming... and she has something to do with it.

I stood there beside Piper, staying as calm as I could. Although it was a little difficult with so many people staring me down, including the boy who broke the only promise he ever made to me and still had the nerve to make me promise the same thing.

I bit my lip to stop it from quivering as I forced my tears back.

Not now Kristen. Not now... I thought.

I looked at Piper and she smiled encouragingly at me. I returned it with a small smile then I turned to Chiron as he started speaking.

"Now. Welcome to the Camp Meeting!" he greeted, and everyone cheered as if he was the president or something.... well, he might be. I dont know.

"I know that all of you wanted to have a Capture-the-Flag game, but--" he started but was then interrupted with loud agreements and complaints. "If you are all done I will continue." He said with a little amusement in his voice, and everyone stopped talking. "Thank you. Now as I was saying. I know that all of you wanted to have a Capture-the-Flag game, but we all must remember that it we must have all the cabin's participating. Otherwise it wouldn't be fair. Yes?" he asked and several of the other kids shouted out agreement and I saw many just nod.

"But unfortunately, the Apollo cabin wouldn't have been able to play since they are all working on healing a wounded guest that came in today." He said. "You may be wondering why it is taking so long and why every Apollo child are working together on one person. Well I am just going to tell you, I wonder the same thing. I don't know what is wrong. But do not worry too much. I will talk with them later and find out. Otherwise, please do not disturb them." Chiron told them sternly.

When all of them nodded, he smiled and said, "On a happier note, I am glad to say that we have a new camper." He looked at me and held his hand out for me to take a step forward. I looked at Piper, and she nodded.

I felt like I was a new girl in a preschool and my parents were just introducing me to the teacher or something. But I took a step forward anyway. I turned to glance at each face that was staring at me, until Chiron's voice boomed over the crackling of the fire again. "Demigods, welcome Kristen to the camp."

Before I knew it, everyone came at me with smiles and grins, hands to shake, and laughter.

This was a lot better than I thought.... I thought.

I put my biggest smile on, and surprisingly, it wasn't that hard. I shook every hand that was held out to me and several times a lot of them gave me a hug. I laughed in surprise and greeted each one of them, and they to me. I turned several times until I froze when I spotted Leo. Looking at me in surprise.

I turned away quickly, and tried to find something else to occupy my mind again. I know he saw me looking at him... how do I know? Because... for some reason.. somehow.. it felt as if he was staring straight into my soul or some cheesy nonsense like that.. I don't know. But... Whenever I caught him looking at me, I felt all warm inside.

But I don't know if it was warm because I was happy, angry, or sad.

I tried to shake the thought out of my mind, but couldn't. After everyone calmly introducing themselves to me, I smiled and carefully crept away from all of them so that they can all enjoy their 'campfire party' or whatever they called it.
