Chapter 3:Singing, a homecoming and... horses?

I walked into our hotel room and was immediately bombarded with questions from Danielle.

"Calm down and I'll tell you what happened," I calmly told her. We went over to the couch and sat down then I began. I told her everything starting with Hunter texting me and ending with Hunter asking me to be his girlfriend and me telling him that I needed to get to know him more, but that I did really like him.

"Why didn't you say yes!?!?" Danielle exclaimed when I was done.

"Because I don't like rushing things and I met him last night!" I responded.

"You said there was a conversation between you, Hunter, Blake, and Miranda about why you stopped singing. Why did you stop?" Danielle asked being serious. She was being serious and concerned. Crap. I didn't want to make her feel guilty because I'm truly happy for her, she just happens to basically be the reason that I stopped. Wow that sounds really bad.

"I just did," I stated. I said it in a way that made it clear that I wasn't going to talk about it. Just then I was saved by her phone ringing. But then I realized who was calling her. Her duet with Hunter was playing which meant that it was Hunter calling her. She gave me a look then went into the bedroom to answer it.

*Danielle's P.O.V.*

My phone started playing I Want Crazy, but not just any version, no it was my duet with Hunter from the previous night. I gave Savannah a knowing look then went into the bedroom to answer it.

"Hey Hunter" I said after hitting the accept button on my iPhone.

"Hey Danielle, did Savannah tell you about today?" He asked.

"Yeah, she did. Don't give up on her Hunter. She really likes you, she just doesn't like to move to fast. She's had her heart broken before and she doesn't wanna go there again."

"Thanks Danielle, but that actually wasn't what I was calling about"

"Oh, well what are you calling about then?"

"Did Savannah tell you why she stopped singing?"

"No, but I know she told you, Blake and Miranda"

"Okay. I'm gonna tell you, but you can't tell her that you know and please don't feel guilty because it really isn't your fault"

"Okay, go ahead"

"She doesn't want help from you, me or Miranda and Blake. She wants to do it on her own. That means she would have to audition for either The Voice, American Idol or The X Factor. American Idol isn't what it used to be, The X Factor doesn't have anyone who can get her to Nashville and she doesn't want special perks from Blake. She feels like she's living in your shadow now and she thinks that on The Voice she would just be known as your cousin. She would be known as your cousin, but she has a great voice. All of us have heard it and Blake and Miranda agree." He paused to let me answer.

"Oh my gosh, she's not pursuing her dream because of me!" I felt awful. She has a great voice! It's all my fault that she isn't trying to be famous.

"Danielle, she just needs to realize that she can pursue her dream and live it right beside you. Miranda, Blake and I have a plan and we need you to help make it happen" He said trying to reassure me.

"What's the plan?"

"We need you to talk to her mom and sign her up for the next season of The Voice. Don't tell her, but help her prepare a song. Take her to the first audition in front of the producers and then you tell her what's going on. She's already there so she has to audition"

"Nice plan. I think I can manage that" I told him.

"Thank you. Now what do I have to do to get Savannah to go out with me?"
