Grabbing hold of my gown, I kicked off my heels and sprinted down the cold sticky floor of gymnasium. I could feel the eyes of the student body eyeing me as a ran down the floor.
Panting I looked wildly toward the back doors of the school. Tripping over the curb, the dusk setting once perfect for homecoming now offsetting my own gloomy mood. I ran across the grass not caring about my dress anymore. I just need to be far away from this god forsaken place. My dress caked in dirt and  ripped in several places including  up my-thigh. Stupid dress, I now regret the once tight bodice that gave my boyfriend something to look at. As he once told me in a joking matter. I couldn't get out all the times he made a jokes about me. I couldn't get it out my head all the times Lauren looked at him With strangers living looks that i once thought were of friendship. I could hear the band playing our house song in the distances. Rubbing the tears out my eyes as i stared at the street that lead down to another nightmare.
"erika! Erika! Wait up!" The distance voice making me turn in hope of a dream that I knew I would never  wake up from.
"Erika!"

My hopes drowned, the tanned girl that I once believed to be my best friend. Came running up her dress in perfect condition still. What caught my attention the most was her smudged lipstick. That brought rage in my eyes. She was below me in status. But yet here she was yet again taking anything She wanted! The perfect little princess of town!

"What?" My voice clipped and hoarse. More tears streaming down my face like tiny rivers. Lauren eyes also seemed to be watery. I could never believe her fake water works. I've seen her fake a cry one to many times to now know the difference.

"Erika, it just happened! We wmeant to tell you a long time ago." Guilt pouring into her voice.
"A long time ago?" My voice only above a whisper, my lip quivering as my heart seemed to break even further.
"We never ment to hurt you." Her hand reaching for my shoulder in comfort.

I slapped her hand away, rage filling my smaller body. My eye looking away as my hand came up to hold my face. I had to keep it up. I had to. I couldn't show any more weakness.

In the distance neither of us saw was a black car, its headlights off. The settling deal giving our confrontation even more of a dramatic turn.

"Go away." I whisper pure hatred in my eyes.
Her voice soft, "Erika, come on he just a boy. I thought nothing could come between us." Her hand once again going towards my shoulder. I pushed her away stepping forward in anger.
" I said Go Away Lauren!" My voice stronger then it's ever been my words feeling harsh biting coming out even my own mouth.
"Erika." Her voice sounded broken, I don't think she ever thought her actions through. Cause she took a step further to me.
" GO AWAY!" Pushing her away, her feet tumbling past the curb into the road.
If I knew that was the defining moment of my life, I would of taken it all away. I would of taken away my friendship and turn it all around.

At this very moment it would be last time I would see Lauren Shepard healthy and alive.

The car was speeding down road, there was no way the driver could of known to stop in time.
There was screaming,I watch the scene in shock. Her body mangled and broken on the ground. Rushing over to her, "lauren? LAUREN!"
I rush to my phone, that was stashed away in my bra.
"Hello 911!  There's been an accident on birch street come quick I think she is dying!" My sobs coming in heavy as I watched the blood seeping into her once Cinderella blue gown.

Soon Sirens of the cars came. The red and blue light flickering across Lauren's face. Giving the girl a haunted look. I could hear the echo of the sound of someone speaking to me.

I didn't mean to murder her.
I didn't mean for this.

" Stand back, she still in shock. Is that the mayors daughter? CALL him up! Where is that ambulance at we need it here stat!"
