A/N - Hi!
Sorry that this chapter is late, I had a couple of maths exams (PPEs), then I went to Edinburgh with my school during the half term, had another set of PPEs (which I have just finished) so I have just been writing when I can but now that they have finished for awhile I can write again (yay).
I went to the Warner Bros studios in London for the first time at the weekend to go on the Harry Potter Studio Tour, which I enjoyed very much and would definitely recommend if you are a fan!
I do not own Kuroshituji or any of the characters (excluding my original characters).
Blinking several times, I let my eyes adjust to the light before propping myself up to get a better look of my surroundings of the room I was in. The walls were a powder blue, adorned with lavender-coloured flowers that had been hand-painted; the wooden floor was covered by a white hand-woven carpet that almost took up the whole of the floor; the furniture was of simple designs, consisting of a small dressing table, a wardrobe next to a basic chest of drawers, a large book shelf - full of many books and a white sofa in the corner of the room accompanied by two light blue armchairs. I was in my room, in my bed, back at my home where my mother and father lived. My door opened after a gentle knock revealing Ester, my mother's maid, carrying a small tray in her hand followed by Eva, the laundry maid, a dress folded neatly over one of her arms. "Your mother sent us, she has requested for you to join her for breakfast now that you are awake, Miss Charlotte." Ester set the tray down on the wooden table at the side of my bed and began pouring some tea. Ester had been serving the family for as long as I remember, but despite her title she was more of my mother's friend than a maid, Eva however, was a young woman in her twenties and had only been working in the manor for a little over a year, but had already won my mother over with her knowledge of fashion. Carefully, I slipped out bed and picked up the dress, it was a simple blue one with adorned with carefully sewn flowers.
"A new design of my mother's?" I ask Eva.
"Yes, it was designed specially for you, Charlotte." She politely replied. Eva was also one of the few people to address me by my name without any title - which I appreciated greatly.
"That would explain the flowers then." I say, fondly, as I move my hand over a few of the flowers. "You two are dismissed, I will get myself ready and meet my mother in the dining room." They both bow politely, Ester picked up the tray, leaving behind the cup of tea and left the room; Eva followed behind her.
As I made my way to the dining room, I went over what had happened. The last thing I could remember was escaping that room and falling unconscious, then Ciel's voice telling me to not close my eyes, to stay awake, to live.
"Miss, I really wouldn't daydream like that, especially after you have just recovered." A low voice whispered in my ear. I jumped and quickly turned around. I was part demon so why were people always able to sneak up on me?
"Felix! Would you stop doing that, just let me be!" I yelled as I came face to face with the son of my mother's friend, who was also my best friend.
"Relax, I was just saving you from causing yourself any more harm, you should be thanking me." I glared, when a large grin spread across his face.
Felix Ashmore was the same age as me and despite being human he knew about me and my family as he was someone I trusted immensely and we told each other everything. Surprisingly it had never bothered and he had even once admitted to me that it made him feel a lot safer when we were around. I don't know why he felt like that.
"Anyway, your mother sent for me to fetch you. She said that you were taking too long, she has really been worried about you these past couple of days." He flicked his blonde hair out of his face, as he looked me seriously.
"Days! Is that how long I was out for?" I exclaim, shocked at how serious my injuries were.
"Yeah, I'm actually surprised you are walking around. Your father said that the impact of the fall did serious damage to your back but here you are, walking around without any evidence of being injured. Lucky." He began laughing and I couldn't help but join in. We began walking to the dining room, "So...Sebastian's a butler now, it's seems strange that he would allow someone to order him around. I mean the Sebastian I know would never let anyone tell him what to do, but the way he obediently follows orders from that boy left me feeling shocked..."
"He made a contract" I reply and he opens his mouth and then closes it as if he doesn't know what to say. I then realise I've managed to make it awkward between us so I smile at him and we both began laughing as we neared the doors.
A/N- Sorry that this chapter seems short but I just wanted to introduce some new characters and post this chapter. Next chapter will be the official start of the arc, the introduction of Charlotte's sisters and her father.
