Chapter 7

Kristie's POV

I was shaking and Mitch and Avi were hugging me. Kevin and Scott were trying to board up the windows. Once they finished, they came over and sat with us against the wall. Avi didn't let go. I felt safe when I was with him. Mitch saw a cat outside and went to rescue it. I wonder what's wrong with him.
"Mitchie!!!!"
He came back with an all black cat in his hands. It was one if the sweetest cats I had ever met. We named her Cocoa. She instantly liked Wyatt, so we decided to keep her. She was a stray after all.
The windows started to shake and I got so scared that I jumped up and accidentally turned on a jigsaw that was down there. It roared and it scratched Avi's arm, and my leg.
"I am so sorry, Avi! Are you okay? It was an accident! I promise! I ju-"
He kissed me to shut me up. I felt like there wasn't a care in the world and the storm even completely passed over. Everything was perfect until I heard the banging on the basement door above us...
