Soft voices prickled on the edges of his senses, bringing Deitonin into the world of consciousness. He was resting in a cot with a wet rag on his forehead. The woman from before was sitting by his side, removing the wet rags across his chest and down his stomach.
He looked over at her, "Who...who're you...?"
Her prismatic eyes glimmered in the light as she spoke, pulling back her hood from a mane elegant red waves, "People call me the Blood Dancer."
The Daemon smiled gently, closing his eyes, "I see...I...I'm Deitonin."
"It's nice to meet you."
He lifted his hand, looking at it, "What happened to me...?"
"I don't really know. I just found you like you are."
He moved his hand around, "I...don't feel my Eco anymore..."
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"It's just...gone..."
The woman hesitantly extended a hand that brushed against his forehead, "Your fever's gone...that's good."
He sighed heavily, brushing his hands through his hair, "Vrail...What happened...? Why do I feel like this...?"
"You absorbed too much raw Dark Eco," the Blood Dancer replied, "You're lucky to be alive."
Deitonin sighed heavily, looking around at their surroundings, it was a relatively small and dimly lit room that appeared to be carved out of stone. A cool breeze moved through the room, but that only slightly cooled the overall warmth that filled the place.
"Where are we...?"
"Spargus."
He nodded, closing his eyes, "Alright..."
She smiled gently and began to move away, "We should get going, there's something happening at the Arena."
Deitonin sighed softly as he forced himself to sit up, "Understood...Let's go see what's happening..."
The woman placed a hand to his back to steady him as he swayed, "Easy big guy...
"I...I'm fine...just...give me a moment to...regain my bearings..." he murmured putting a hand to his head as it swam.
She sighed, "You should take things slow...maybe we shouldn't go after all..."
Deitonin flinched as there was a knock on the door, making the Blood Dancer look to the door in surprise. She frowned as she neared the door, putting her ear to the door, "Who is it?"
"It doesn't matter. Just open the door!" a voice barked on the other side that Deitonin recognized as Jak.
The Blood Dancer frowned and looked to him, "Do you know him?"
He nodded, "It's Jak. He's a friend."
She nodded before hesitantly opened the door, showing the blond standing on the other side. He looked a little frazzled and there were signs of sleeplessness in his weary eyes. The man came forward, but stopped before him with his arms crossed, putting on the tough facade in front of the stranger to him, "What happened to you? You look terrible."
"I don't really know...But you should thank this kind young woman for saving me." he replied smiling gently.
Jak looked over his shoulder to her and nodded in silent thanks, but had an unamused look, "Right...You should come on, Dax and the others are waiting in the Arena."
He nodded, "Right...what's happening anyway?"
"No clue. I was just told to come get you..." he replied.
