I pull down my sleeves so that they're partially covering my hands. You're always safer when your sleeves cover your hands.
"So what are we doing for your birthday?" Landon asks me.
I look up from my salad, "Uh, I don't know."
He continues talking about the movies that are going to be playing while my mind wanders. What would happen if I broke my leg? Would people have to help me with getting lunch?
"Erin?" I look up, startled. "You were whispering to yourself..."
"Oh," is all I say as I get up and throw away my half eaten salad. I get back to the table and Moriah and Lizzy have arrived. I look up as I sit back down, feeling Landon's eyes on me. "What?"
"You didn't eat much."
I shrug, "I'm not hungry and I kinda have a headache."
He looks at me, not believing a word. "Er..."
I quickly start a conversation with Moriah, ending the speech before it even started.
"So Moriah, what are we doing in English today?" I ask her, her dark hair shining in the sunlight.
Lizzy's the one to answer, "We had a pop quiz, it was terrible, everyone failed."
I groan, I love English, but I hate quizzes.
The conversation rapidly changes from class to games, something I know next to nothing about. Deciding that this is my cue to leave, I quietly gather my things and walk to Trig, not one person even looking up.
