    Amelia's father/The King Media

                Third Person

Amelia and her father King Miguel were sitting outside on the deck having lunch together in a comfortable silence. She didn't mind having lunch with her father but it got on her last nerve whenever he bought up marriage and Affonso.

"I heard you found a lovely dress for the ball in two days." The King said as he picked up a fork fill of vegetables. "Yeah." Amelia replied simply.

"You don't sound too excited... Is there something wrong?" The king questioned. Amelia shrugged. "I'm fine dad."

He gave her a brief glance before focusing his attention on his plate of food. "I hope you know that Affonso will be accompanying you to the ball. You guys look great together."

Amelia gave a blank facial expression and sipped her lukewarm tea. "Father. Why can't I have a say in who's accompanying me to the masquerade ball?" He raised his eyes brows in curiosity. "Because I really want you and Affonso to get to know each other and you barely are allowed no where so I highly doubt that you have suggestions for another date." He said rather flatly.

"Father I do have a male friend that I do want to come to the ball." Amelia said while playing with her polished fingers. "Who may this guy be? Does he have a title or is he rich?" The King questioned as he finished the remaining pieces of his salad.

Amelia couldn't really answer his question because she barely knew a thing about him. She didn't even know his name for crying out loud. "Father I just met him a week ago. We're still getting to know each other." She lied right through gritted teeth.

"Amelia how the hell you don't know if he's a royal or not for talking to him for a week?" He scolded at her. "Dad I could care less about a title, what matters is their personality."

"You're still marrying and going to the ball regardless with Affonso, it's final. If he was a royal or even rich I would of thought about the both of you going together. That's my final decision." The King said seriously as he sipped on his wine. Amelia just rolled her eyes.

Nothing is never in my control.

Later that evening Amelia sat in her bedroom becoming anxious by the minute about the ball. The decorators were currently downstairs decorating the grand ballroom. Her parents were out doing last minute errands before the ball. And her siblings were doing who knows what.

Amelia wished that she could bring Jay with her to the ball. She wanted to show him off to all the people of Brazil but that wouldn't happen in a million years. Besides he's probably not even going to come back to see me she thought.

She silently sighed and combed her soft wavy brown locks as she stared at the television screen in pure boredom.

"Amelia..." Someone called out of no where. She turned around to be faced with Jay leaning against the wall near the balcony door with his arms folded. She faintly smiled.

"Jay.. You need to seriously stop creeping up on me." She blushed. Jay rolled his eyes and just gave her a blank facial expression. "It's a habit." He mumbled but she heard what he said.

It was a very awkward silence between the both of them. Neither of them didn't even know where to begin or what to say.

"Thank you." Jay barely said audible as he glanced down at his all black high top supras. He actually couldn't believe that he was actually thanking someone for once. "For what?" Amelia asked puzzled.
