Amelia Preston

"Smile and wave baby." Affonso whispered into my ear as we walked hand in hand down the street to a local cafe.

I cringed at how hard he was holding my hand and from the bright camera flashes everywhere. "Princesa Amelia there are rumors going around that you and Affonso are together is that true?" A middle aged reporter questioned while she put a microphone in my face.

I felt my hand being squeezed very tightly. "No we're just really good friends." I wasn't going to sit here and let some guy control me around. I was growing very sick and tired of this crap.

"So there's no wedding?" Another man questioned while pushing through a crowd of reporters.

"N-"

"Yes there will be a wedding in the upcoming months. Amelia is just a little loopy due to her having a few glasses of wine earlier." He sharply cut me off causing me to scoff. The crowd of reporters continuously took pictures and laughed at his remark.

I took his hand out of my grasp and shook my head. He was seriously going to hear it from me whenever we get the chance to be alone. "We can't wait to see!" Someone exclaimed. Affonso grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the cafe where we would be dining for lunch.

"I'm so done with you." I whispered very harshly as he lead us to a table in the middle of the cafe.

"Don't be like that Amelia." He tried taking my hand into his but I snatched it away. "Why shouldn't I? You and my father are planning my whole upcoming future." I snarled at him.

"It's what's best for you Princesa, it's always been like this for decades." Affonso said to me and picked up a menu.

"It doesn't make sense because my father was supposed to marry a woman with a title but he ended up marrying my mother and she wasn't a royal." I sure wasn't ready to get married at such a young age. I wanted to enjoy my life a bit before settling down for good. But I didn't want to end up with Affonso until death do us part. If I had to marry someone it would have to be Jay. He was the only guy I've ever grown strong feelings for.

"It didn't last as you can see." He closed his menu and waved a waiter over to the table. "You are so freaking rude. She died you moron if you really want to know, that's why it didn't last long." I was at the point of just getting up from the table and walking away.

"But it still didn't last long." He said in a very obvious tone. "You are not the person I thought you were." I spit at him.

Affonso just looked at me and then brought his attention to a short brunette woman holding a notepad which I assumed is the waitress. "Waiter, I'll take a dish of Feijoada and she'll take a fruit salad."

"Actually I want a Acarajé meal." She nodded and quickly scurried off. "You are a very controlling man." He was really doing the most right now. I hate how him and father basically controls my life.

"Actually I'm not, I just know what's best for you because you need to stay in shape since we're together." I really wanted to slap him senseless.

"Together? You really need to wake up and smell the coffee because we are not together. I tried giving you a chance but you ruined it." I picked up my glass of water and took a sip.

"Your words don't affect me." I rolled my eyes at him.

Before I could respond back to him I felt a pair of unfamiliar lips attached to mines.

I started freaking out and pushed him off of me. "What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you kiss me?" I tried keeping my voice down trying not to make a scene.
