"You've made a wise decision Amelia. I knew my words would sink in." Father laced his fingers together as he sat behind his brown desk. Mother shook her head at this whole situation. "Yeah I guess you're right." I took Jay's advice and actually listened to him about pretending to date Affonso to get Father off of my back.
"Affonso is such a swell young man." He commented. "Now he will be here around fifteen minutes you may want to go wait for him." I politely nodded to step mother leaving his study. I felt so bad for all of this. I felt like I was cheating on him.
This situation was out of control.

"I'm glad we're finally together my love." Affonso picked my hand up and kissed it. I rolled my eyes at his corny attempts. We were having brunch on the patio at a nice restaurant. "Likewise." I fake smiled popping a spoonful of fruit in my mouth.
"What made you change your mind?" Affonso asked curiously.

"Because I realized.... That I have feelings for you." I was very unsure when I said that to him. I just hoped he believed my lie. "I just knew when you were resisting from me that you had feelings for me but you just wanted to play hard to get." He winked at me. I barely was paying attention to what he was saying. My mind was focused on Jay at the moment.
"I guess you can say that." Affonso was so full of himself and annoying. I just can't stand him. "Since we are a couple now... We should kiss for the paparazzi to let them know about us." Affonso scooted his chair towards me. I just didn't like how he threw himself on me it was a complete turn off.
"Um-- Affonso I'm not re-" Before I could finish my sentence my phone vibrated in my purse. "Hold on this may be important." I unlocked my phone seeing that Jay texted me.
I felt my stomach flutter with butterflies at his message. "Hello Amelia. I'm still here." Affonso waved his hands in my face bringing me back to reality.
"Yes I see that but just give me a second."
