CHAPTER 2: The Shadow City

It was pretty late by the time Rhaiz woke up the next day, and it was Riaz who woke him up in a cruel way.

Before he woke up he was dreaming about fighting bosses and celebrating with Sam and Lavinia............having ice cold water thrown onto face by Lavinia in the dream was pretty cruel.

"Ah! What the......." He cursed waking up.

"You're late. Guess you told your buddies to wait at the station at eleven, hell eleven it's already ten forty five! Your pals are gonna kill you for sure! Rhaiz do you here me?? Get up" Riaz shouted.

Rhaiz looked at Riaz admiringly, she sure gained the perks of being a mother in her absence, though it was very annoying he didn't know what he would do without her.

Waking up was painful but he managed it, the next twenty minutes were a blur........ Having a shower, selecting clothes for the cosplay, brushing his teeth, flossing them and having a burnt pancake made by Riaz.

It was terrible.

"Bye! I gotta go now"Rhaiz shouted packing his bag and heading towards the door.

"Come back by six, I lost the second house key and I have to be at Rik's house for a party by 6:30 so I need someone at the house, okay? Don't be late or I'll kill you!"Riaz said.

"Does Rik know you are so bossy?"Rhaiz smirked, ducking to avoid a spoon thrown at him.

He jogged along the floor and still could listen the curses thrown at him by Riaz.

The GamCon was planned out at the outer city so the trip to outer Maya sure was gonna take some time.

He reached the basement and headed towards his bike, one of those supercharged sport bikes usually seen in dreams, he had won it at a BMX crossroad race, about six months ago.

It was the best thing that ever happened to him.

He mounted his bike and started it, luckily for him the station was pretty close and he was there in no time.

He parked his bike and headed towards the platform, good for him that his card still had balance. He swiped his card and entered the station.

Looked like that Calvin and Cirev had just reached the station too. Thank God he wasn't late.

Together they boarded the train and talked about the new VR technology that was going to be released at the GamCon, of which they had won free trials in a lucky draw.

The trip was pretty long and their talk soon died, now there was nothing left except seventeen more stations, Rhaiz thought about the incident at the museum the day before..

An eye for an eye, gee but you got the better end if the deal.......

That strange voice still echoed in his head, and made it hurt like crazy, he hadn't thought much about it since then but whenever he did it made his hurt and lately something strange also felt in the air like the advent of something evil and something that was going to make him lonely.

Ah... it's all in my head he thought.

They soon reached their destination and got out and looked for directions for the GamCon and soon found it.
