Kayla woke up to someone kissing her neck. "Mike...you trying to start last night all over again? I'm tired," she mumbled.
"I can't kiss my fiancé now?" He continued his smooch attack, finding the birthmark just under her ear and nibbling at the skin. She was starting to throb once more. She loved the feel of his bare skin against hers...but something felt off.
"Mike...stop. I think I started my period. Dammit."
She pouted. Kayla looked under the covers, afraid to see that she had leaked.
She did.
"I'm sorry. Sometimes I can't even tell when it's about to come. I'll get up and clean it right now."
Mike saw the large blood stain and his brows shot up. "Well, there's no need to apologize babe. It's natural. I'll help you get cleaned up. Don't worry about cleaning the sheets. Wait here, I'll be right back.
After a moment he returned with some Pamprin and a Ginger Ale. "I noticed you get sick a lot when this time comes around.""Thank you baby!" she said, beaming at him. She took the medicine immediately before the death cramps could kick in. Michael helped her up, the sheets slipping off of her body. They stood together with nothing on for a moment. She hurried quickly to the bathroom to avoid leaking onto the carpet.
With a snap, the Maestro had the covers and sheets flying off the bed. The mattress was being scrubbed by some invisible force. Soon no blood stains were present. New sheets replaced the old.
Kayla inhaled the lavender scent coming from the bathroom. She was completely impressed with how Michael set everything up at her disposal. She gave a delighted smile while watching the remnants of the lavender bath bomb fizz away in the tub. The lights were dim and there were a couple candles here and there. A sitting stool was placed next to the bathtub. She wondered what it could be for.
"I told you I was going to wash your hair," Michael said, appearing with some fresh clothes on. He wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her bare shoulder. "Again, thank you." she gave him a peck on the lips.

"Hmm, not bad," Kayla said an hour later, after bathing and being pampered. She examined her twists that Michael did. He managed to shampoo, condition and moisturize her hair properly. And he rubbed her down with coconut oil. She felt like going back to sleep.
"And you said I wouldn't be able to do it," he smirked.
"Mm. I guess I was wrong about you," Kayla said, faking an attitude.
"That you were."
"Are you glad you're taking a break though?" She inquired, turning around and sitting Indian style, facing him.
"Yeah. It's hard sometimes. I still feel guilty about...you know..."
She took his hands in hers. "I know. We'll make him pay for what he's done ...look at me being selfish. I'm supposed to be pampering you!"
"You're not being selfish. Taking care of you has helped me escape this turmoil for a while.""Well, as soon as I feel better it's going to be your turn." she smiled seductively, caressing his cheek. Michael kissed the back of her hand. It seemed as if he couldn't become any more enamored with her than he already was. "I'm so thankful to have you with me."
SONDRA
"What should we do with these two?" Sondra said. The growling and snapping of the infuriated creature nearly drowned out her voice. She, Nicolas, Gil, Janet and her friends had managed to track the Mayor and his pet down. Janet could find almost anyone on Earth if she really wanted to. She nearly yawned upon remembering how sloppy Sneddon had been in covering his tracks. Hell, maybe this is why Carlos used him.
"We take them back to the Manor to have the Maestro deal with them," Nicholas said. "He needs to be interrogated."
They all agreed hesitantly, knowing that their friend was on a break from his duties as a Guardian. Michael really needed it after what happened to that little girl, but this situation was dire. "He decides what to do with them. Sondra, you and I will assist him with the interrogation of Sneddon. Janet, Gil and Enrique will deal with Damien."
Sneddon was asleep for now. He and the shape shifter were both caged in an impenetrable force of magic, separated from each other, of course.
"My master should have let me eat him," Damien snarled, gesturing towards the Mayor. "I know I could have carried out his will perfectly, with no mistakes! You puny mortals are good for absolutely nothing!"
"You speak eloquently for a half-breed," Sondra quipped. The creature roared at her, but she challenged him with a smirk. "Let's get moving," she said. They all vanished from their secluded stakeout in the woods.

Michael heard a gentle knock at his bedroom door. He carefully removed himself from bed so as to not wake Kayla. She had decided to try and sleep off the cramps and let the medicine kick in. He knew who it was immediately. "Good afternoon Michael, sorry to disturb you...the others have a very important message for you, in the ballroom," Minerva said.
"Thank you, Minerva, I'll be out in a moment."
Her serious tone concerned him. Michael kissed Kayla's forehead before shutting the door quietly.
I wonder what I've missed while away, he thought.
Upon entering the ballroom he was slightly alarmed to see the Mayor himself, spectacles and all, trapped in a bubble and looking very frightened. He blanched when laying eyes upon the Maestro. "Nicholas, how did you find him?" Michael said.
