Chapter Nine – Remember That You’re Not Alone

It’s been a few days since my performance. Playlist has ended and almost everyone is away home, Louise, Zoe, Marcus, Caspar and Alfie left yesterday. We all exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet up sometime soon; they all assured me that they still wanted to be my friends despite what happened with Jack. They’re actually more annoyed at him than I am. I spent the rest of yesterday with Dan and Phil talking about the radio show and messing around down at the pool.

I haven’t seen Jack or Finn since the show. I think Jack is avoiding me because any time I have caught a glimpse of him he’s turned and walked in the other direction.

Today is the day that I’m leaving for home. I don’t really want to leave without sorting things out with Jack but if he wants to talk to me then he can come and find me.

Before I leave I say bye to Dan, Phil, the entire ShayTards clan and Sam. I ask Sam if he wants to meet up sometime but he says he will be in America for almost the entire year, which makes me sad because Sam and I have really bonded and formed a good friendship over this past week.

We hug once more before I get in the taxi to go to the airport and as the taxi pulls away from the hotel a catch a glimpse of a familiar face running towards the car.

I hand my boarding pass to the lady at the desk and just as I'm about to walk through the doors someone screams "Izzy!" I turn around and see Jack being held back by four security guards, Sam and Finn a little bit behind him. 

I walk towards them and ignore the lady at the desk. I reach the security guards and one says to me. "Miss we can't let him through here, you could climb over, but I'm afraid that you will miss your flight if you do that." I nod and climb over the barrier taking my belongings with me. 

The guards release Jack and I fix him with a hard look. "Jack what are you doing here?" 

"I came because we can't leave things this way between us. I can't live with myself knowing that you think I cheated on you after only a few days of us being together. I didn't that girl forced herself upon me. If you don't want to get back together and try again I completely understand that but you have to at least forgive me. Please." Jack pleads with me there are tears brimming in his eyes and that's when I realise he's telling me the truth. 

"Oh Jack." I pull him into a hug burying my face in his neck. "I'm so sorry I didn't believe you."

"It's okay Izzy, at least now I know that you believe me and we can both move on if that's what you want. Just for the record though I don't think I can move on." I look up at him shock clear on my face, is he saying what I think he's saying? "The truth is I am completely head over heels in love with you Isabella Monti and I am not letting you go without a fight, you're far too amazing to lose that easily." Tears brim in my eyes.

"You know what Jack? I'm so glad you said that, because I am completely and ridiculously in love with you too." It's Jack's turn to look shocked, his head shoots up and I laugh a bit wiping the tears from my face. Why the hell am I crying?! Agh stop! 

Jack reaches out his hand and wipes the tears from my cheek with his thumb. Then he rests our foreheads together and slowly leans in until our lips are touching. 

When we pull apart there's cheering from behind us and when we turn around we see Sam and Finn jumping around and cheering like little kids. I laugh at them and turn my attention back to Jack who crashes our lips together again. 

"I've missed doing that." He whispers and we both laugh at how cliché this whole thing is. But it couldn't have been more perfect. But the moment is ruined as soon as something very important occurs to me.

"Emm I hate to ruin the mood but how am I supposed to get home?"

Jack’s face blanks. "Oh... I didn't think that part through..." I laugh at him and we decide to go and see if Sam or Finn have any ideas. Jack takes my guitar and my case from me and we walk over to the two idiots who are still happy dancing. 

"Hey it's the two love birds!" Sam exclaims wiggling his eyebrows at us. 

"Hey it's the two idiots!" I say back making Jack laugh. “We have a bit of a dilemma on our hands.”

“What is it?” Finn questions. “Are you pregnant?!”

“Oh my God! Jack you’ve only known her for just over a week and you’ve already gotten her pregnant!” Sam exclaims smacking Jack on the side of the head.

“What are mum and dad going to say?” Finn mutters sounding exasperated, I watch the entire scene unfold with a small smirk.

Jack looks pretty scared so I decide to intervene. “Guys!” I say making Sam and Finn stop pacing and look at me. “I’m not pregnant you idiots. You two sure like to jump to conclusions don’t you?”

“Well what is your dilemma then?” Sam asks.

“I missed my plane and I don’t know how I’m going to get home. I have nowhere to stay and that was the last flight to Glasgow until Thursday.” I can tell that all the boys are thinking by the looks of concentration on their faces. We decide to go and get a coffee and discuss what to do more before Jack and Finn have to leave for London and Sam for L.A.

“I’ve got it!” We all look to Jack. “Izzy how much money do you have left?”

I pull out my purse and count what’s left. “About two hundred dollars, why?”

“Because there are still seats left on Finn and I’s plane home, the tickets are only one hundred and sixty dollars! Once you get to London you can figure it out from there but at least you would be in Britain.” I smile.

“This is why I love you.” I say pecking Jack on the lips. We grab my stuff and run to the desk to buy a ticket for the flight to London.  There is only one left and luckily I get it.

“Mam’ that flight leaves in half an hour, so you need to go to the check in desk now.” The lady behind the desk tells me as she hands me the ticket.

“Okay, thank you. Boys! We need to go, now!” I shout over to them while picking up all of my bags and running towards them. “Sam, have a great time in L.A, and try not to get arrested.” Sam laughs and gives me a hug.

“I’m glad you’re back together with Jack, look after yourself okay? And if he gives you any trouble just tell me and I’ll be on the next plane back.” I laugh and pull out of the hug.

“Will do, see you soon.” I turn around and run after Jack and Finn to get the plane to London.

I’m going to London with the person I thought that I would never talk to or see again only this morning.

This day has been a good one.
