(29) In Which Contact Was Made

Keyisha POV

Month of June. Probably one of the most stressful months besides January because of exams. The only plus was the exam break, two and a half weeks just dedicated to exams, how beautiful. The girls and I were at the library studying "together", really we were just there all together in case one or the other needed help and this way we were also hanging out. 

"Kay do you have the definitions to the last unit for social?" Katerina asked taking out her headphones.

"Uhm yeah just look in my binder it's there somewhere." I responded back as I was practicing to write a reading comp on my laptop. 

So far everything has been good. No unnecessary drama which lead to a better stress free life. Antonio and I had gotten closer I guess. Texting more, hanging out more it was good, we were just taking it as it was going. 

As for Michael I hadn't gotten the chance to talk to him one on one. He's always with friends and whenever he's alone I'm with my friends. I don't know if it was best to text him saying that we should talk because people usually get nervous and anxious so I didn't want to do that, but on the other hand I wanted us to be in a good place before he left because even after everything I care, like a lot.

"I'm going to get a snack, anyone want anything?" I said as I finished my practice exam.

"A wrap would be great." Sade said as she looked up from her notes.

"Nothing else?" I asked again before leaving.

No one responded so I figured it was just Sade. I grabbed my wallet and headed out of the library. We had a few little places to eat in the building so I went to booster juice. Figure this was a healthier choice.

Since exam break started I hadn't seen him around. I figured he was also busy packing for his move, I bet I'm the last thing on his mind to be worrying about and really I shouldn't be stressed about him either but I am cuz of how everything played out and honestly I wished things ended differently. 

I got Sade's wrap, my panini, and my booster and started to head back to the library. I handed Sade her wrap and sat down. Once I had made myself comfortable I noticed that Sade and Katerina were staring at me. 

"What?" I asked as I took a sip from my booster. 

"Did I miss something?" I asked again.

"While you were gone your phone rang, and it was Michael.." Katerina said.

"Is that it?" I asked, "You act like someone died, did any of you answer it?"

"Eh no we figured it was best not to, it's not like he would tell us anything."

"Oh okay, I'll call him back." I finished as I picked up my phone redialing his number. 

"I'll be back."

I walked out of the library out into the open where it wasn't as quite. 

The phone seemed to ring forever and I was honestly loosing my patience waiting on him to answer. After what felt like forever he answered his phone is a groggy low voice like he just woke up.

"Hello." He answered.

"Hey, you called." I answered.

"Um yeah, I just wanted to see how you were I guess. I'm leaving on Wednesday after my exam so I wanted to know if we could talk or something?" His voice had woken up and sounded unsure as he asked.

"I was thinking the same thing, I just wasn't sure when you were leaving. Anyways yeah do you want to meet up tomorrow or something?" I asked since I knew he would probably beat around the bush.

"Yeah want to go to Tim Hortons beside the school?" He asked.

"Yeah sounds great, see you then." I replied.

"See you then." After answering the line went blank and I stood there thinking about what I really had to say to him. 

This whole time I was focused on talking to him, but about what? Why he picked Brittney over me or what would've happened to us if we were still together and he was moving. I don't know what to expect and I don't want to think about it much now that it's set that we are meeting. 

I walked back to my friends and took a seat.

"So what happened?" Sade asked first.

"We are meeting tomorrow to talk." I answered.

"What about?" Kat asked.

"I'm not sure honestly." I replied.

OKAY OKAY OKAY, second last chapter! I have started to write the last chapter, hopefully all goes well, I know this is short but there's really nothing else to be taking about. So with this coming to an end I will start making the sequel, I do not have a set date but of course I'll want to get it out asap, or really as soon as I have a good enough plot for it. Anyways thanks <3
