(18) In Which I Got A Package
Keyisha POV
The white winter snowflakes fell slowly outside my window. They looked at peace falling till they met the ground collecting in piles. My street was covered in a beautiful blanket of snow with barely any imprints of civilization.
The break suddenly had taken a spin that made me busy. I rarely got to sleep in since my family did so much visiting and planning for our New Years Eve party that was soon coming up. The girls got to come over and help with a lot of planning since there would be teenagers my parents wanted a teenager imput as well so the party wasn't too adult like.
I hadn't seen Michael in a week or so but I couldn't I had been too busy. He texted me checking in and seeng how the planning was going which was sweet of him.
My parents had left the house early this morning I'm guessing for things that didn't require my imput. With the party only three days away I told me parents that I would begin the house decorations to reduce the work. There was specific boxes with the different names of decorations.
I decided to start with any roof decorations since those would most likely take the longest. I grabbed one of our ladders that we borrowed for decorating. Pulling out the stars and firework type paper things I began to tape them onto the roof from the places that would be most safe until my dad could do the rest.
From our main stairs close to the top it was easy for me just to stand on the stairs and do them from there which required less work. Half way through putting the ones close to the stairs the doorbell rang. I raised an eyebrow a who it could be.
"I wasn't expecting guests." I muttered to myself on the way to the door. I looked through the eyehole and saw a post man standing there with a box.
Opening the door I saw a man in about his early thirties? He was about 6 feet with brown disleveled hair and a little pot belly. A small gust of wind blew at my face which was refreshing from the sweat build up.
"Package for Keyisha Perez."
"That would be me." I responded back with a smile on my face.
In return he smiled back, "You just need to sign here and the package is yours." He said while handing me a clipboard.
"And if I don't sign?"
"Then no package for you."
I laughed, "Now wouldn't that suck." I said while signing andd handing him back his clipboard.
"Indeed. Busy decorating for a house party?"
I looked back into the house I had forgotten I was even decorating. "Yeah, parents are hosting a New Years party."
"Well have fun and a Happy New Years to you." He said while tipping his hat to me.
I smiled, "A Happy New Years to you too."
Closing the door behind me I took the box to the kitchen counter. I opened one of the drawers and pulled out an exact knife. The first thing I saw when I opened the box was a beautiful yet simple card. It was sweet and had all the right things said in it and at the end it was signatures by Michael. A smile huge transformed on my face and wouldn't leave as I continued looking through the to the rest of the box.
