Never Say Never by The Fray

Savannah's POV

One suspenseful week and finally, it was the night of the black and white ball. And I know, it sounds really weird, but trust me, it's the most fun you can ever get out of high school. People everywhere with masks, you had no idea who was who, and I guess the school made it kind of a masquerade party because they wanted us to make different friends. Either that, or they just wanted to go old school.

Hahah see what I did there? No? Oh...kay...

"Which shoes are you wearing?" Ariana paced around my room, finding this to wear with her dress.

"I was thinking the white heels with the bow in the front." I answered as I looked into the mirror and put my mask on. It was a plain white mask, like the Phantom of The Opera one, but not as creepy and... you know. I added small circular silver studs around the border of the mask, just to match my dress.

"Cute! Ok, so blue bracelet, or black?" She held up the two.

"Blue." I turned to her as I put on some dangling fringe earrings.

I curled my hair and put on a pearl bracelet, along with a light blue one and a black one. After about ten more minutes of getting ready, Ariana and I walked downstairs to meet my mom and dad who were smiling widely.

"You guys look beautiful!" My mom said as she snapped a few pictures.

"Mom, it's not prom, you don't need to take so many pictures." I laughed as Ariana and I went out the front door.

"Have fun girls! But not too much! oh, and remember Savannah, 12:00." I heard her say from the front door as we went out to my car.

"I know mom. Bye, love you!" I turned around quickly before getting in the car and speeding off towards the dance.

Austin's POV

"Dude, how could you not get the memo, black and white ball." Alex looked at me weirdly as we walked through the doors of the dance and down the long stair case that was built on the gym/dance floor.

"I can wear a blue tie if I want to.' I said matter-of-factly.

"Whatever floats your boat." Alex shrugged as we went to get drinks.

"Hey, looks like someone else didn't get the memo." Robert nudged my shoulder, making me look up.To my surprise, I saw the most beautiful girl ever. She had a light blue dress that was just above her knees and her hair was perfectly curled.

"Woah... Who is she?" My voice trailed off as I stared at her making her way down.

Savannah's POV

"Why is everyone staring at us?" I walked nervously down the staircase with Ariana close to my side.

"Maybe it's because we're wearing blue." She stated the obvious.

"Lets just try not to be the center of attention." I pulled her over to the snack table to get drinks.

I poured myself some punch when a voice very close by came up.

"Hey." The voice was soft yet I could still hear it over the loud music.

"Oh, hi... I looked up shyly to see a slightly taller guy with brown hair and a black mask. I saw Ariana patted my shoulder, smirking as she walked up to a boy with black hair behind him.
