Song Of The Chapter
Between The Raindrops by Lifehouse
~~~~~~~
Austin's POV
I had just finished my last song and I thought it was about time to make an announcement about the 'mystery girl' I was looking for.
"Hey guys!' I said as the girls started screaming.
My ears...
"So I'm pretty sure you all know that I've been looking for a girl. And many, many of you have come up to me and told me that you were the one. Like I said, I asked you guys to tell me what the song was and what I asked you when you left-"
"The song was Never Say Never... and you asked me if you would ever see me again." A voice interrupted me on the mic, causing whispers to go around the room. I looked around the room rapidly, trying to find the source of the voice. It was kind of dark and there were at least 400 people in the room, so it was kind of hard.
"Um, you guys can continue with your party..." I ran offstage and handed my mic to one of the staff. I looked around and found Alex
"Who was that?" I ran up to him.
"Look for yourself.' Alex pointed to my left. I turned my head to see... Savannah.
She was still holding the microphone in her hands.
I slowly walked up to her, realizing what a jerk I must've been when I assumed she wasn't the one.
"Savannah, I..." I stopped myself, not knowing what to say.
"I'll just leave you two alone." Ariana informed us as she walked over to where Alex was.
I watched as Savannah turned around and got rid of the microphone she had been holding, then turned back to face me, her eyes lighting up.
"It was you...?" I was in utter shock.
"Yeah, and I understand if you were expecting someone else, I-"
"I wasn't expecting anyone at all..." I cut her off, looking deep inter her hazel eyes. "I'm really sorry for not believing you when you tried to tell me." I looked down.
"It's fine, I'm kind of used to people ignoring me..." She looked away.
"Really? Why would they do that?" I looked up at her. She just shrugged.
"Want to go get a drink?" She asked to change the topic.
"Sure." I brought up a smile and we both went to find Alex and Ariana.
Savannah's POV
"So you're really leaving for a month?" I asked him as we approached Alex and Ariana.
"What?" He looked at me weirdly.
"For your concerts... you're leaving for a month, right?" I clarified.
"Um, no..." He shook his head.
"But Ariana to-" I paused and realized what had happened.
"You guys lied to me! Austin's not leaving for a month..." I pointed a finger and they started cracking up.
"We just needed a way for you to tell Austin quicker." Ariana laughed. I just shook my head and glared at them, letting out a small laugh afterwards.
Austin's POV
Man, this girl is something. She was so close to me yet so far away. But I can't believe I found her now.
"So, what do you say we go out sometime...?" I asked Savannah as we both walked out of the school.
"Like, on a date?" She asked as I pushed open the front doors, the cold air immediately hitting me, making my body shiver. Luckily, I had my jacket to keep me warm.
"If you want to put it that way, then yeah, like a date." I smiled to myself.
"Sure." I noticed a smile tug on her lips too.
And with that, we parted our ways as she walked to her car and I walked to mine.
"Austin, we need to talk." My mom approached me once I opened the front door of the house.
"Hey what's up?" I shut the door and stuffed my hands in my pockets.
"It's about the story on you on TMZ." She crossed her arms.
"Mom, I know, it was the second time and-"
"Austin, you have to be more careful. And from now on, you have to stay away from being in public for at least three weeks." She cut me off.
"Three weeks?" I scrunched my eyebrows.
"Yes. It's long enough for the story to die down and then you can go out." She explained, raising eyebrow to make sure I understood.
"Fine." I started walking up the stairs.
"Love you." She said as she walked into the living room.
"Love you too." I answered and shut my door.
I decided to call Alex and ask him about what I should do. I plopped down on my computer chair and pulled my phone out of my pocket as I dialed his number, waiting three rings until he picked up.
"Hello?" The familiar voice answered.
"Hey Alex, it's Austin." I rubbed my face with my hand.
"I know." He chuckled.
"Anyways, my mom pretty much grounded me from going out in public after seeing those pictures, you know..." I explained.
"How long?" He asked.
"Three weeks." I looked at the floor.
"Well it can't be that hard, right? I mean, it's winter break, you don't have to go anywhere." Alex said sympathetically.
"Yeah, but I was hoping I could take Savannah out on a date." I sighed.
"Just... wear a disguise!" Alex beamed.
"A disguise? I'm going to look like an idiot." I raised an eyebrow.
"No you won't. Just put on some shades and a hat. And don't dress how you usually do." He suggested.
"Oh okay, I'll just wear a dress." I said, sarcasm clear in my voice.
"You know what I mean." I could imagine Alex rolling his eyes.
"Okay, fine. Thanks bro."
"No problem. See you later." He said softly.
"Bye." I hung up afterwards.
Well this is going to be an interesting date.
