ha nah was welcomed to school by multiple ladders as students from the council were struggling to remove the higher decorations down. she spotted hye eun and ha min in the far corner, away from the bustling of their council president shouting his orders to his subordinates at the top of the ladders.

"morning." all of them felt so burned out. which school holds a sports festival right smack in the middle of the week?

from the corner of her eye, she spotted jeon walking, basically speeding, to his class as the bell rang to signal the start of classes. ha nah had no idea why he would always catch her attention, even amidst the crowd.

they took their classes as usual, and finally welcomed lunch period after the struggle in math class. a familiar figure stood at the doorway of her class. tall and broad, with heavenly proportions. "so, what are we having today?" ha min popped the question as they exited their classroom to the busy hallway.

"hi, ha nah. would you like to, maybe, have lunch together?" seokjin cut ha min off. just the appearance of him at this storey of the school was enough to make many juniors stop in their tracks and wonder why he was here. several students around them had stopped their conversations and shifted their sights to the group of four. "ha nah is having lunch with him, right over there. sorry!" hye eun linked their arms together and dragged her towards the lone boy stood in front of his locker.

"here. please take care of her for today, even if it's just for lunchtime. we had to get away from someone." this speaks volumes about hye eun's personality. she always lends a helping hand to a friend in need, and sometimes even takes extreme measures like in this instance, when she brought ha nah right in front of jeon.

"i'm so sorry. it's ok if you're feeling uncomfortable. i'll just go back to my friends. sorry about that!" ha nah pointed both her index fingers, signalling that she was going to catch up with her friends, but seokjin was still stood there and they made eye contact for a brief second, before ha nah finally heard a voice she had been yearning to hear.

"is it him?" she turned around to realise that jeon still had his head buried in his locker. "uh... yes." his round head finally popped out from inside and he shuts the door. "let's go."

jeon took hurried steps to the cafeteria, while ha nah stared in disbelief. "is he serious?" before her brain could react, her legs already took off, following behind jeon.

he thought this might be the perfect opportunity to repay her for standing up for him in front of do hyun.

both of them settled down in their seats as ha nah looked around, eyes shifting. "is it ok for you to be here?" she asked, voice laced with concern. "he's absent today." he instantly knew what she was referring to. only then did she relax her stance, and took the first bite out of her meal.

"hi, i'm ha nah. i realised i haven't done a proper introduction and yet we're here having a meal together." as expected, she was met with silence. ha nah did not want to seem like she was invading his privacy or anything, so she picked up another bite of her food, resuming as though her self-introduction did not happen.

"jungkook." she barely caught it but still did, because his voice was so distinct. it was like he was the only existence in front of her, minus the others who were fighting over the last serving of tonkatsu right behind him.

"hi jungkook."
