Emma's POV continued
We arrived at school and sat in the car for about five minutes until Ethan broke the silence.
"So," he said, scratching his head.
"So what?" I asked, confused.
"Umm... never mind," he said, lowering his head.
We unbuckled our seat belts and got out of the car, making our way into the school building. We met up with Jehu, James, and Stone in the hall.
"Hey!" I said with a smile.
"Hey!" they replied in unison.
We all went our separate ways to our lockers. I put my book bag in my locker, grabbed my textbooks, and headed to class.
The morning passed quickly, and before I knew it, it was lunchtime. I went to my locker to put my books away and headed to the cafeteria to grab lunch.
After what felt like forever in the lunch line, I finally got my food and made my way to our usual table. Stone, James, and Jehu were already there, but where was Ethan?
"Where's Ethan?" I asked, looking around the room.
"Don't know," James replied.
We all looked around the cafeteria, but Ethan was nowhere to be found. I sat down at the table, still wondering where he was. We started eating, but the curiosity lingered.
A few minutes later, Ethan walked through the cafeteria door, his face a picture of anger, like he wanted to kill someone. He walked straight over to the table, clenched his fist, and slammed it down on the table. We all stared at him, wide-eyed.
"What the fuck?" Stone said, looking at Ethan with a strange expression.
Ethan's POV
"What the fuck?" Stone said, still staring at me.
Emma got up from her seat and walked to my side of the table. She placed her hand on my arm, and just feeling her skin against mine calmed my nerves. She sat beside me, holding my hand.
"What's wrong?" she asked, her face sad and concerned. "Why are you so angry?" she continued.
"Busshead has a new leader," I said, trying to keep my voice calm.
"WHAT?" they all said in unison.
"Yes," I confirmed, my anger rising again.
"Who is it?" Emma asked.
"I don't know," I replied, looking away. "That's what I want to find out."
The bell rang, signaling the end of lunch, and we all made our way to our lockers. I grabbed my books and went to class.
The moment the teacher began speaking, I drifted into a world of my own. I started to contemplate how I was going to ask Emma out on a date. But, in the back of my mind, I couldn't shake the question of who the new leader of Busshead was.
The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and I made my way to my locker.
