1 Month Earlier; Jyser

Oh, what a shame. The poor girl will have no idea what's coming for her.

Perhaps that is an easy way to die.

I looked around the dimly lit room at my companions. By the looks of it, none of them bothered to read my mind except Tristan, for he was looking at me with a grin on his face. The grin wasn't the kind most people would be comfortable with, oh no, this was different. This was the kind of grin that was menacing, unforgiving and usually the one we wear while getting rid of our victims. Tristan was overly excited; he hadn't been near the humans in a long time.

The other five with us were too deep in discussion to notice anything. Suddenly, Terence captured our attention. "It has been decided then, the girl will have to be gone. No more, no less." Terence said.

Well then. They had made the decision without me; The Council of 7's job is to make all the decisions for our people. I couldn't be bothered though, I was respected and Terence had promised that this one would be mine.

Terence continued, "Nathaniel, you will leave next month. You may take one other with you" everyone knew who was coming with me "and I expect you to come back only when the job is done."

Terence didn't have to add that last part; I had the best record out of everyone here besides Terence and maybe Gabe. I nodded my head in acknowledgment and that was a sign of dismissal for us all.

While I was leaving, Tristan caught up to me. He said, "Time for a bit of excitement, right mate? It feels like it has been forever."

I smiled in response. Yes indeed, it was time for some fun.
